EQ1 = 1 choice when it came to your character abilities....picking a class.  If you were lucky enough to pick Cleric, Warrior, or Enchanter your life was easy, you were one of the "required" classes.  Heaven forbid you screw up and pick something like Shadow Knight or Beast Master, if you did, you quickly found out you were useless and not wanted by most groups.

EQ2 = a couple of different choices when it comes to your character.   If you want to be the warrior type you can be a warrior type but still customize your character somewhat by being a Shadow Knight or Monk and having a different set of abilities but still be able to fill a usefull role in a group.

And people say EQ2 is bad because of this?

Grouping...as with any MMORPG the game has a bit of a social element, you need to make friends so you can find groups.  I like grouping, I like social interaction, which is why I like MMORPGs.  I've never had much of a problem in any game finding groups, and I for one am glad to hear that EQ2 revolves around groups.

Group Quests...awsome.  Needing to help your friend so he can complete a quest, great.  Need to get help to complete some of your quests...awsome.

Everything negative I've read about EQ2 so far has been due to players.  And players are unfortunatally the biggest problem in MMORPG, everything is always about "I".  I can't complete this quest, I can't find a group, I can't solo, ME ME ME F'in ME.

I guess I'm lucky in the fact that I have a good group of close friends who I'll be playing EQ with, sounds like we're going to have a good time.

I for one, don't like what I've seen of the game so far. I'm not telling you not to like the game. Just getting the word out, so that other people who haven't had a chance to play it yet, can make a more informed decision about buying/playing the game.

I'd like to note that I play MMO's for the grouping. I like group tactics and winning a difficult encounter because of the group working well together.

    Yeah, I'd do Betty....
But I'd be thinking about Wilma.
