Haven't any of you played Guild Wars it is probably similar to there ingame store feature on there character selection screen will probably be the xtent of it all. haveing an option to change things late in the game is nice for those who dont abuse it but it doesnt matter what you do someone will find a way to xploit it for there own selfish ways.  Jerks are everywhere get used to it.

If they implemented a real cash shop (not just limited services that don't really affect the game), I'd quit immediately.

I have never and will never play any game with a cash shop.

    Currently Playing: EVE Online
Retired From: UO, FFXI, AO, SWG, Ryzom, GW, WoW, WAR

I don't consider name changing, server transfer and changing appearance a cash shop items.

These types of features are added in many p2p games and they SHOULD be made so specially for server transfer and name changing, next time think carefully before chosing that server and/or what name you have used.

So in other words saying cash shop in the title is a bit missleading in my opinion since there was no sign in interface nor in their game information about such cash shop your saying.

Quote from an Ayase post on AionSource:

"Aion is and will remain a subscription-based game. The "micro-transactions" I know have been discussed so far only involve lesser additional services, rendering "micro-transaction" a fairly erroneous word to describe it. Overall I think we're looking at a quite conventional subscription system, but as the reply in the interview states we aren't at a stage in planning yet where we can tell you exactly what we'll have. Rest assured that it wouldn't make sense to anyone to have a game which requires both micro-transactions and a subscription fee to be played decently."

They don't call it a cash shop, not even MTs, just additional services.

Exactly and like I said already some p2p games have these services also.

even if they do sell items that will give players an advantage, i doubt they'll make the best of the best items only accessable by cash shop... if they sell ingame items, and i'm correct, i'll probably bitch and whine but still play. if they sell beastly items that gods use, i'll probably quit.

It's obviously to make more money, thats all a company is, to make money. In Lineage 2, appearance change items were purchasable ingame, Aion is selling it for $, that is a change there. However, to be fair Aion has a much more extensive character customization feature which deserves a revenue stream.

If I liked Aion, I would definitely quit if they implement cash shops or the like.  I'm already boycotting Cryptic Studios', Champions Online and Star Trek Online because they think it's in our best interest to implement both Subscription and Micro Transactions in both of those games.  I don't support greed, never have, never will.

With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal

we are talking about ingame features to change your decission, it's not cosmetics, it's not things that you cant get otherwise, its a change of decission, you're free to do it right on the first attempt and then never need these extra services at all.

I don't know what the conversation is about, are we trying to foresee that NCsoft will add some more stuff? Check out blizzard, did they add more stuff? Check out L2, did they add more stuff? Check out CoX, did they add more stuff?

But not always for the better =.

To me, implementing new things as a pay to get looks like a last ditch effort before they shelve the project and work on something new.
