How do you think is TOO long to spend on a mmo per day?

    I agree.

Personally I'm a college student so I end up with a lot of free time. The way I figure it is that as long as I am not blowing off any plans with friends or blowing off school, who cares? I'll admit that I will have some days where I will probably play for a decent amount. Not anywhere close to 16 hours, mind you, but still a decent amount of time.

Of course I probably actually don't spend a TON of times on MMOs since even though I may be on the PC there might be a whole lot of stuff I am doing. Being someone who is trying to get into some freelance web design (I've got a few projects I have done so far) I may be doing that, I may be playing some other game, I may just be surfing the web or I might, finally, be playing an MMO.

Like what was said above though, I think it varies depending on the person and the situation. For a college student having a large amount of playtime seems fine -- I mean sometimes there just may not be anything going on. However I think I would raise an eye if a man who worked 40 hours a week, had a family and kids and still played for that long constantly. (Not taking into account breaks or anything like that).

I don't care what anybody says, sitting in a chair for 3+ hours playing a video game is not a good idea.

Its freaking awesome tho and I love doing it when I get a chance!

On a serious note, I  don't think it's possible to play for more than a few hours a day and not be neglecting at least a couple responsibilities. Even if its just tidying up your space at home or talking with your folks/friends/neighbour for 30mins or so.... I mean you gotta do these things. I hate how I can't EVER play video games anymore without feeling like I am neglecting something.....

What business of mine is it how much time other people spend playing a game?

    Their life, their choice.

One man, a small pile of money, and the screwball idea of a DIY Indie MMORPG? Yep, that's him. ~sigh~

hehehehe!!! Well...I guess it's better than having her accidentally toss the car into neutral when you're doing 85 down the highway...

...as much as I hated to do it, I had to put the kabosh to the hummer-while-driving routine.....

Usually about 2-4 hours on actually playing games but alot of time goes into forums aswell, so in total it ends up to about 6-8 hours. Hey don't judge me its summer break and i seriously have nothing better to do

Personally, I think spending more than an average of 2 hours per day on MMORPGs (or any game for that matter) is far too much time. Note I say average; there's nothing wrong with occasional Friday-Saturday and vacation playing sprees.

Even if you're a college student or a retired person, there are far healthier things to be doing, both physically and mentally. You could be reading, furthering your education (this is possible even in college, amazing I know), exercising, exploring a museum / wildlife / historical area, playing a sport of some kind, tinkering with a more active hobby, hanging out with friends / family, volunteering at an animal shelter, doing work around the house or yard work (if you've got one)....

Games are good for us in a way, but two hours per day is already a lot of time to devote to a single, sedentary activity. Americans in general spend way too much time on pure entertainment, be it 3-4 hours or more of television, Internet lurking, gaming, or what-have-you.

When I separated from the U.S. Air Force five years ago, I spent a few months slacking off, playing games and watching movies and television all day long. I can honestly say I'm happier, healthier and more content when I spend only a couple of hours per day on pure entertainment. Plus, the entertainment lasts longer and is more satisfying since I don't do 8-16 hours of it per day, which uses up content quickly and causes burnout.

    I'm starting to get dickidoo.

It gets boring after i play for more than 2 hours of a game without stopping. then i stop for an hour and come back and its fun again =)

If there's fruit flies in your kitchen, then you're spending too much time in MMOs.

That pretty much sums it up :P

Meh, it varies... some weeks I'll do 20, some I'll do 0...

more than 6 hours, as you start to wilt then, and you have a limpant desire for the game.

Seriously though, if you play MMORPGs for longer periods of time than you spend sleeping, you have a serious problem.

That's a good one brah, you sure told him. No one cares what you think! TAKE THAT! YEAH!

Just pointing out the painfully obvious, but no one has any more reason to care about your opinion here than his (or anyone else's, for that matter), so that's kind of a pointless statement.

What I would be regretting takes priority over what I would be neglecting. Everyone has his/her own priority set.

If I choose to spend 10 hours in one day playing an MMORPG, at least I'm excersising my mind instead of drooling mindlessly at a television, or driving home drunk with a burning crotch and an empty wallet.
I'll take my games any day over  a "life" like that, thank you.

I'll agree and add that its really all about choices, if you want to spend every free moment logged into WoW then more power to you, as long as you can run your life and support yourself, its a personal choice.
