So I made it to level 12, and I tried a few different techs and enhancements as well as some crafting.
The "MMO" aspect seems a last minute addition that isn't very well done. It's just a hub to craft, check the AH, send some mail or grab a few "go kill x number of enemies with a (insert weapon here)" missions.
The PvE content sticks you in an area where you run around shooting npcs (who happen to respawn in the exact same spot ever ytime), and "gathering" up crates of equipment.
The PvP is fun ... but not balanced at all. As a level 12 I ended up in several shootouts and turf wars with players that were 20+ and as you can imagine it's hard to compete considering they have better gear, better enhancements, better gizmos, etc.
Overall, I wouldn't call it terrible but I wouldn't pay a dime for it considering there are other, better, F2P options already out there.

Meh, people who are level 25+ do not have a really huge advantage like you make it seem in pvp compared to you. Just aim a little better :P.
Anyways, you are mostly right about the rest of it. It's a big chat room, but what do you expect. It's an FPS.
Getting into games is easy, you don't even have to talk to an NPC or go anywhere. Heard it's going to be monthly + cash shop.
My aim is fine thank you very much :P.
You can't say that higher levels don't have an advantage when they have access to better protection gear, as well as better enhancements and more powerful weaponry. In fact a few times I noticed those that were 25+ took 2 shots to the head with my lowbie sniper rifle before biting it, unlike me who could only take one. That didn't bother me much as my Kill: Death ratio was sitting around 2.5: 1 .. but it still is rather weak that the system isn't better at balancing things out.

I got to level 27 on the last day of open beta. Made ten gold bars in a mod FFA match. Got a black do-rag, black boots, and a black T-shirt. Danced in the street next to Jhana until the servers closed.
Bah, the best thing about the game is the combat engine. It plays fast, is intense, and requires skill. Even the ragdoll deaths are entertaining. You can die a thousand deaths and each one will be different. Lower levels can kill the highest levels using basic FPS skills, just not on a consistent basis.
After two free months, subscriptions will be 10 bucks a month.
I was thinking this was going to be F2P (after purchase) game. Ah well, once it releases I will give it a look over. Gonna have to be something serious there for me to pay to do FPS games.
