Just a quick question for you beta testers: One of the things I remember about the famous "X-Wing" and "TIE Fighter" games (which I loved!) was that the Empire had a sort of an inherent advantage over the rebels when it came to dogfighting, at least for me personally.
The advantage to flying a TIE fighter is that the shape of the vehicle is such that your opponent can't really tell at first glance whether you're coming or going, or which direction your turning. While the rebel ships look more aerodynamic and are therefore easier to see in manuever and therefore easier to predict and chase. I found that flying a TIE was much easier for this reason alone. In an X-Wing, I hated the frisky TIE's that could jink around and keep me guessing just because I couldn't get a feeling for which direction they were heading.
The reason I ask is because PvP will be a major component of JTL, and if I decide to buy it I want every advantage I can get...
Note: I understand that the various other models of TIE fighters are not quite so symetrical as the original... do you tend to see more of those?
thanks!
