My little thoughts about it: - AION is a fresh tittle and is #3 in here, mmorpg.com, the #1 and #2 are a "holywood" titles and a very allready know mmo names. Ppl hype just because the names. Hype means nothing---literally. - U see a "war" between lovers and haters around foruns, thats a result of a great tittle. Then I guess AoC and Darkfall are raving success stories. - Its going to be lunch in NA/EU after 10 months realesed in Korea, 5 months after China, and still call a lot of interest. Western gamers are alot different than Eastern gamers. NCsoft is about to find that out, regardless how much they claim they "understand" us. - Will be a new experience of community, some from grinding type game and some from quest type game. Anyone who's played WoW or FTP games like RoM have already experienced that community.

Really the years of excellent games with similar themes by the developers, who give them the same name so people can have faith in the title with not much knowledge - indeed its just a name, nothing more of course :P
Its more funny that "hollywood" is an attempted jab...as everytime I go to the movies, I guess I should have self-loathing. Or the next time I watch a popular television show, oh man there must be an indie title thats way better.
Really, Aion is a good game - but "winner" status will be determined at the end of Q4 2010, as time will tell - not silly statements without merit.
every game has its pros and cons, but as long as the community iq average is higher than 44, the game should do well, even if they have to merge servers after 6 months. im actually looking forward to getting into a game that has the combined pros and cons of alot of the behemoths out there.

... and everyone having tried Lineage 2 will have proper expierience with "this community" too.
Has alot of eploitable features * only no life are trying to exploited game, those who play for fun dont look for exploit. ( so if there sitll after all those patch some exploit than it will took time before normal player hear of it )
And the game will be lunched with and earlier patched as the korean game, so bug it will have. Bad history ? About ncsoft, the game itself have certainly changed since your last play. * There still bots but barelly perceptible. And NcSoft was the first real compagny to work frequently with authority in the war for RTM.
NcSoft is'nt only Lineage 2 ( there Lineage, guildwars, CoV, CoH, Extell, and more ) And for those recently Dev/ who have dimiss recently its only matter of they've done their work, and will have new contrat elsewehere with and other compagny. * and tubula rasa Richard , he's a special case. Anyway tubula rasa wasnt lunch and it was already a fail game, because the communoty wasnt big enought for this, and the game wasnt interesting and appeal for gamer.* p.s: if you dont want to pass for a useless information leecher than speak with some taugh word and made your opinion more constructive.

I would suspect that the 451% rise in NCSofts profits is indicative of Aions success in the countries that it has already gone live in.
I'm not an Aion beta player here in the EU or likely to buy the game just yet when it does go live as I'm very much looking forward to Champions Online, but Aion still interests me enough to see that NCSofts fortunes seem to have turned a corner since their unfortunate last few titles released and failed.
The power of money speaks volumes for any game, wether it be good or bad, profits = success in anyones book.
However the likes of WoW will still have nothing to fear from Aion, the little players though might find their player bases squeezed somewhat come release day.

Hahaha, you gotta love these posts.
Depends on definition of "winner" I suppose.
Will it have WOW's sub numbers? No.
Will it have FFA PVP with real consequences for dying like DF or EVE? No.
Will players control vast areas of territory and deny entry to their enemies? Maybe.
Will it have well crafted raid instances like EQ/EQ2/WOW? Probably not.
Will it have in depth, meaningful crafting? Good possibility.
Will it have RVR style combat a la DAOC? Distinct Possibility
There are many gameplay features AION will have, and others that will be missing or not very deep.
Its a bit early to declare Aion a winner, why not let it release and the numbers will speak for themselves.
