Vast amounts of content can be placed on a DVD(s) quite easily, small things can be fixed quite easily via patches... Since small things are pretty much just about switching code around.

When the Box ships and the North America Launch happens im sure there will be some updates to do out of the box just to get the CD version up to speed with the latest bug fix's that were submitted in OB 6. And like all games i give them 3 months to fix the major bugs since that seems to be the way things work ... Launch (grip for 3 months) Big patch... and all honky dory.

Till that day in september ill be on facebook gambling away my bordom.

    Happy days

I thought they removed the underscore thing from names? I know I couldn't make a character with underscore in CBT5, very saddened by that.

EDIT: oh wait, dw you talking about your CBT characters, thought you were talking about future ones.

With an MMORPG, I am of the opinion that if you can't play it, at least for a limited time, for free, then it isn't worth investing in.

A single player game I can feasibly take back to my local games store and either get credit on another game or my money back, depending on the store.  With online games that is not an option, once you blown the money, its gone, regardless of how you feel about the game itself.

Not to mention the fact that there are and have been 100s of MMO's that have been utterly rubbish and a complete waste of money.

Aion has played its Beta like a prize for us to win.....we win nothing from Aion, Aion wins from us, the customer base.  So when they open up their Beta and let everyone in, then I will have a look and judge the game, however, their behaviour in the way they have played the closed Beta to garner sales, rather then as a means to improving and fixing the game, has left me wondering whether this is a company I ever want to get involved with.

MMORPGs take a commitment to playing, it takes time to play an MMORPG and do you really want to spend a lot of time in a game with a company that cares so much more about the bottom line then it does customers, fans and whether the game is any good?  Aren't you just setting yourself up for a fall?

Ahh, crack.  Personally I don't care much for the whole WoW deal.  I think of it like I do most modern games.  Too commercial.....too much of an uncreative, plotless, sham of a game.  I liked the ones back when the graphics sucked.  They had to use story to sell those games.  Now all they focus on is graphics technology and no storyline.  Irritates me to no end.

All I can say is that Aion is definitely the most enjoyable MMO that I have ever played in Beta.  I experienced no lag issues and was consistently surprised with the fluid gameplay and the polish that Aion posesses already.  Little details like quick cutscenes that foreshadow higher level gameplay are just so well done, that I am left wondering why other MMOs are not more like Aion.  Having the ability to ascend by level 10 and fly with one's own wings is simply superb.    Bravo NCsoft and all of the Aion developers!   Job well done.  When is the open beta???  Bring it on, quickly, please!

I can understand your concern about buying an MMO without playing it. But NCsoft has offered more than enough chances for anyone who *really* wants to try it to do so. They can't let everyone in, that’s why they do the beta keys first come first serve. That being said how does AION win in a beta? They are fronting the money for you to try out their game. You pay nothing. So the players win. Not to mention the first month is free. Finally, do you really think NCsoft put out a bad game? I think if you did that you would not be on the forums ranting about not getting a beta key. I think that if you never played the Beta then you have no idea what your talking about. Get your facts before you rant pls.

NCsoft is a top notch outfit. They're honestly going up against Blizzard for the gaming dollars of the North American market. No small feat. They're not messing around. I don't think this is going to blow the box open as much as Guild Wars almost did, but, there will be no shoddy products from this company. I payed $50 for Oblivion, I'll pay $50 for this and see where it takes me. WoW is too much of a grind, and full of snottys just like Guild Wars has turned into. I've seen alot more cooperation and goodwill on the beta servers than I ever expected. Similar to my early days in DDO. Now that's too complicated and guys won't help you, so I'll stick with LoTRO in the meantime and watch my fantasy football picks.

Each race has strengths and weaknesses? What? Link to this please, I'd be real interested to see, I was under the impression it was aesthetics only.

    so...

This game has major problems, I know several people who have computers that the game just won't run on.  The stupid gameguard has big issues with some virus protection programs.    I hear a big thud coming.

What makes you think they are not fixing that and other issues right now? They simply made the base install discs, when people install it, I bet you there will be a patch waiting for them. :)

I agree and if that's the only problem then that is some thing the gamer had to deal with not NCsoft. I have play many beta before and this is the smoothies I've ever seen.  When I stopped playing WOW there were still bugs that were known just like in every game.  The bug wars never end.

Exploits are what is "Good Games" Down falls... Power XPing... Cheating & hacking Destroys games of this Caliber {AION} is a MMO all in a New Class of next Gen new gaming... the flow of {AION's} game play and the UI friendliness is a Plus in my book, as for PvP it's far beyond any MMO i ever played and I have played quite a few in my day. Some people call {"AION"} a grinder or a Quest fest you can't be farther from the truth, if you see and read the Campaigns, and read the Lore of the Game you will be pulled into the world of {"AION"}!  Crafting... and the skill chain... are graphicly the most awsome things I have seen as of late in MMO's !

Yes, AION is balls of Brass saying they will be #2 in MMO's...

i welcome them to try and will be a devoted client if they do what they say!

No offense to the OP. But what's your source on this? I haven't seen anything official on the NCSoft or Aiononline website about it going Gold. I'll believe it when I see it officially.

They already announced the games release (Sept 22) so the would have to be done pretty soon.

Lag has to do with your computer and your connection, the game itself only plays a small part in it.

Dude, its only 50 bucks. And you CAN get your money back for the game box which comes with a free 30 days. Plus if NCSoft only cared about the money then they would be advertising this game. So far the only place i've seen this game advertised is Gamestop and Myspace.com. Also they wouldn't take our suggestions and fix things in the game to the way we thought would be better, which they did in the CBTs. But of course, your own opinion is your own opinion and im not here to change that. Just thought i'd prove a few points. =)
