I was really excited about Champions Online until I actually got to play it.
1. Comabt - Auto-attacking ? You have to be kidding me. I can literally sit there, grab a drink and talk on the phone while my character kills something. Not my cup of tea and if that is the best Cryptic can do witht he combat system then I'm really disappointed.
2. Engame - There is none. At the end you can do Unity missions. These missions are almost exactly like the Zaishen Missions in Guild Wars. Grab a quest and clear the objective. The next idea of their endgame is just rerolling another character. I'm not sure how many characters people will make but after 2 times I'm sure alot will start looking elswhere. Oh and you can continue to pvp if you want to.
3. Too easy - There is nothing majorly challenging about the pve game at all once you get the hang of it. Totally disappointed.
4. Lifetime subscription - Unless you have the money and you are a big super-hero fan I would never do this. The game is simply not worth upfronting all that money for a mmo. Roper tried to do this with Hellgate and it failed miserably.
In my opinion it is like they used the Guild Wars design and installed super-heros in it. That is ok if you like it but if you are going to copy Guild Wars design atleast make it better than Guild Wars, which it clearly is not. I'm just suprised that after all this time this is the best they can do. This game needs a $9.95 subscription model so I won't feel I am being cheated out of my money and time. There isn't enough content to keep you busy and to justify the subscription plans Cryptic offers. I'm afraid this game gets a big thumbs down.

Sorry to hear you did not like it. I was almost exactly the opposite; extremely sceptical of Cryptic and CO after leaving CoX but the game won me over big time.
I'm sure you know this but so people do not get the wrong idea it is only your Energy Builder that is set for auto attack (and you can disable that if you care to), all of the rest of your powers need to be activated manually. Personally I found that very helpful as I always had enough other things to do.
Interesting points. I'm curious as to how long you played the game. What level did you get to etc? I'd like to provide some counterpoints though.
1- Combat: You really just sat there and used your end-builder to kill mobs? Having played the game, I have a hard time seeing you able to do this past lvl 14ish at the best. If that's all you do, groups could take you out, boss fights are nearly impossible with just autoattacking. I also think you're missing part of the fun. The "autoattack" is called an energy builder cause it's really just there so you can build up energy for your much more powerful, much cooler attacks. It's like getting bullets for your awesome gun, and then just throwing them at someone.
2- Are you sure you reached the endgame? As I understand it there will be 20 man raids in addition to the UNITY missions and the like. When I was in beta we were only limited to Canada/Desert/Millenium City, so you must have been in a part of beta where they allowed you the whole game I guess?
3- Again, I wonder how much you were really doing. At level 14 I couldn't solo other level 14 mobs (without building myself solo specced) and some of the solo-specced people I teamed up with still got beat down when it was 3 of us vs. a group of mobs our level. Where was it you were fighting? You must have had some sort of unique build that let you solo the entire game easy. I'd love to know what that was. Perhaps you had Invulnerable before it was nerfed? Things may be very different now
4- I disagree but there's nothing particularly wrong with your point. If you like the game and think you're going to play it for a year or more, buy the lifetime sub. Otherwise don't, that's okay too. It's certainly worth it for many people if what I've been hearing is true.
Honestly I don't seem to see alot of examples of what you say is wrong with the game. Perhaps we could expand on your opinions?

1) There is an auto-attack for your endurance building attack.
1a) It can be turned off ( I would suggest it for melee types )
1b) it is a first level power that if you depend upon it solley after level 7 you are gonna find yourself respawning often.
2) ENDGAME - Have not tried it. Too busy trying different character options and fleshing out the system rather than take a toon to the 40's in the limited time we had to play. So, I cannot comment on something I did not experience.
3) Too Easy - I felt the mid teens to twenties it does start to get harder. The lower levels is pretty easy to go through and as you get higher level it scales up quite nicely. Now, where it becomes challengiing is in the number of Mobs you tend to get and the villain types. As far as no challenge once you get the hang of it.... Well, anything outside of PvP is this way for me in ANY game out there. AI is AI and can only go so far. I am not of the opinion that it is too easy tho.
4) LIFETIME - Yeah, I agree. I could not and do not see forking over $200.00 for a game period. Would not even do that for TOR and I am a Star Wars fan!. Now, having said that, there are a number of folks who feel it is worth it. So, make your own mind up and do not blindly accept something without doing some research first.
I am trying but, just do not get the guild wars reference. There are no bots you can take with you into some zone. Everything is not instanced. Though there are instances of each zone ( to take the need of limiting characters to specific servers ) that can be switched at any time to join up with freinds.
With the simplicity of crating and the items that you can make actually haveing a real benefit to the player. I do not see this as being limited play or things to do. I see no mention of the Nemesis or the quests and plot lines you get with that feature of the game. I do not see your posting of anything on the PvP with the jail break thingy or battlezones. IMO, sounds like you leveled fast and may have missed some stuff.
Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.
It isn't that bad but definitely not what I was expecting. I is better than Aion but that isn't saying alot either.
1. If you choose the right set and build your character appropriately you don't even need to use the endurance builder anymore. Did you try that?
2. Yes, you can do UNITY missions and Lairs. There are also raid bosses. Sounds great to me. Do you really want tiered raids? Seriously?
3. Did you play last week? They ramped up the difficulty quite a bit. People were all over the forums complaining that it was too hard. It may have been too easy when you played, but if last week is any indiciation then it shouldn't be too easy anymore.
