"Pre-load" from fileplanet turns out to apparently need over 3gb of "patching"

Patching is incredibly slow, and eventually freezes for everybody

Cryptic releases a "workaround" which, if followed, erases all of the data from the fileplanet download.

3:50 p.m. est- the entire Champions Online website goes down with nothing but a blank white screen and the message "the web site is currently offline"

 

 

will update with more accomplishments as they accumulate throughout the day.  I just thought someone should document this for future prosterity.
