Ps3 has more features, better hardware, is more powerful, and has a free network. There are at least 5 MMO's coming out for it. Xbox may have a larger library, but that's only because its older. Price is no longer a reason not to buy. Just saying Sony is gearing up to big things currently, they just had a slow start up due to cost of the better hardware.
LOL!
Maybe you should learn to google a bit more, before making claims that the PS3 is more powerful and has better hardware then the XBOX360.
Plenty of tests have shown how big of a flop the PS3 really is.
The only thing the PS3 had going for is BluRay. But now the standard BluRay players have dropped in price so much, there goes PS3's last thing it had going for.
Ever wondered why more and more games come out for the XBOX360 and not for the PS3? Google a bit and you will find out the shocking truth!
The fact that they come out with a new version of the PS3 with a HardDisk the same size the XBOX360 always had and they now drop the price to $300 is a mere act of desperation on Sony's behalf.
And now with Project Natal coming for the XBOX360... Sony is pissing their pants.
Cheers
Mr.Gates is that you?
I am absolutely no Microsoft Fan if that is what you think.
Just google some tech sites that have run tests on both XBOX360 and PS3 and you will be in for a shocker!
And why there aren't so many games for PS3 and more for XBOX360 has absolutely nothing to do with the XBOX360 being older!
Sorry tho, but the PS3 is now nearly 3 years old and the amount of games available now is a joke!
And the reason for that is pretty much simple, many have already explained why. And that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the age of the PS3 !
It has all to do with the horrible development tools of the PS3 and the ever idiotic arrogant stiffness of Sony!
A lot of Game Development Houses have gotten fed up with Sony and some of them have even turned their back on them and now only develop for PC, XBOX360 and WII.
Just google around and read some articles. Has nothing to do with Fanboism at all. As a Games Development company wants to make as much money as possible. So when they start avoiding developing for PS3, then it's serious!
Cheers
I think he is right about the 360 performing better than the PS3. I just googled 360 vs PS3 performance.
300 bones fore a PS3 but there aren't many games that I want to play. With FF13 coming out on the 360 that leave me no reason to get one. The 360 has more RPGs out for it and there are like maybe 2 that the PS3 have that aren't coming out for the 360.
Heard last night on Attack of the Show that the 360 also has a 54% failure rate due to red ring syndrome. I suppose thats acceptable today but for the money a $299 PS3 will be the I go.

Initial release 360s had a problem with that, but because of it Microsoft extended the warranty on all 360s (which they didn't have to do) and fixed them for free, even paid for the shipping.
Happened to me about a week before Christmas one year and I thought "Great I'll send this in it will take a week to get there a week or two to get processed and a week to get back to me and I won't be able to play the new games I have" I got it back in 4 days completly fixed and hasn't had a single issue since.
I've heard of plenty of PS3s that crapped the bed too though.

I dont recall the other numbers but PS3 has some issues yes, the Wii was best with single digits for failure. Having to return something for repair at that high of rate is unacceptable to me. And the 54% number isnt something from release its a current figure.
Consuming less power is a huge deal here in Hawaii where electricity is really expensive. I wish Nvidia and ATI would create more efficient graphics cards.

It is actually 54% of the readers surveyed in some game magazine, but I still think the fail rate is pretty high even if it isn't 54%. Microsoft has stepped up and did the right thing by fixing them, even after the normal warranty expired.
Odd that only like 3% of people said it would keep them from buying an xbox system in the future, so it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker for most people.
Like most said already, it doesn't really matter how much the system costs if the game selection is lacking. The only difference the price would make is how much you overpay for a system that offers less.
I wonder if this has anything to do with Activision threatening to drop development for the PS3 if the price didn't drop. I'm sure that is a lot of sabre rattling, but behind the scenes I bet it has a lot of impact on license pricing and things of that nature. I seem to recall it being the first case of a software developer making such a stance against a console.
After hearing about the price drop i went to Amazon and looked at games. Thing that hit me was the price of console games,a bit steep is an understatement.
I would rather play any MMO on MY consoles. I don't care witch one or both. Just to up grade a video card to about what PS3 and Xbox has would cost about $300.
That is just false. The Xbox and PS3 both have Graphics cards roughly equivalent to 7800/7900 GTX. You can get a 9800GTX for $129, which is two generations better. $300 can get you a near top of the line graphics card that is way better than the technology in a current console.

rsx is going to a 65 nm instead of 90 nm ,if true should boost smoothness
The CPU also is getting a die reduction. The two things are part of the price reduction. 9 core, less heat and power use. Notice the slim does not have a power brick on its cord.
As far as games, some of the must play for me are Uncharted, Warhawk, Civilization revolution, Demon souls (US version to come), little big planet, Heavy Rain (Not out, drool...) , inFamous (bad ass) , Assassin's Creed II (Not out yet).
Of course games like MAG and the other MMOs comming out are on my list, but the games above are really great titles.
To quite someone who said it better than me:
Now, the 120GB PS3 Slim is the best deal in video gaming, period. Even if, as rumored, the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite matches its $299 price later this month, Microsoft now finds itself soundly trumped on the feature front. For the same price, consumers get a Blu-ray player--unavailable on the Xbox, period--and built-in Wi-Fi, which costs an outrageous $100 extra for the 360. Though it lacks the Twitter, Facebook, and Last.fm integration the 360 will get later this year, the PS3 offers direct access to those sites via its Web browser. (Netflix streaming remains Microsoft's sole platform-exclusive service, although third-party apps can fix that as well.) Throw in Sony's far more reliable hardware--which is now more energy efficient, cooler, and quieter thanks to a smaller 45nm-process Cell chipset--and it's a package too attractive for any serious gamer not to own.
Wifi and the free PSN network are why this console is more suited to out MMO playing needs (Blue ray content delivery with its 50 gig capacity). Not to mention all the other features such as the linkage with the PSP and other devices that use blue tooth.

Static hardware man. Learn to love it. The PS3 uses a custom GPU. The RSX "Reality Synthesizer." They are not directly comparable.
