quick questions about CO open beta

Hi all, first I apologize if this has allready been addressed but I'm at work and really dont have the time to search the forums.  I just have a few questions.  Thx for your help and time.

 

1.  Are they doing character wipes after open beta? reason I ask is since we still have 2 weeks till lauch thats a pretty long time for an open beta and early character leveling.

2.  I plan on ordering from direct2drive, Im wondering if anyone had prob getting their key, downloading game, etc from them.

1. Yes, there will be a character wipe after the open beta... Think I heard there was a early start though...

2. Bought a couple of games from them and never had any problem (not CO though..)

Character wipe BEFORE Open Beta, character wipe after open beta then somewhere there is a head start tucked in there.

great all appreciate it, also i forgot to ask how long is this open beta good for, dont wont to get it now to find out all i have is a day =-/

1. Yes there will be a character wipe.
2. No, you won't have any problem with D2D. My best friend is using them with no problem yet.

It's supposed to last a week, but Cryptic may add an extra day because the majority of people had patcher/download problems yesterday. We'll see, though; for now, I'd expect a week (so until Monday, August 24th).
