gameplay engine!

crystal tools is going to be the gameplay engine. In my opinion this is a bettar choice than the unreal engine 3 used for some previous games. what do you think?

I think the lighting is terrible in unreal 3 It was used in FF13 i believe.

FF13 uses the crystal tools engine as well.

I don't know much about graphics engines but I think it's a better choice since it's their own engine designed specifically for multi-platform games which is great for FF14. Plus FF13 looks good and FF14 looks good so far so obviously it's a good engine.

Crystal tools (the white engine) was used for FF13 and it looks pretty good so i'm sure they made a good choice.

The crystal tools engine is a much better choice then the unreal engine, the unreal engine works great for fps but really isnt meant to handle all the content of an rpg or a mmorpg and the post above me are correct FFXIII uses the crystal tools engine. The last remnant also a square enix title uses the unreal engine and you can see for yourself how many graphical issues it has (pop ups and loss of textures) unreal 3 just wasn't meant for the rpg style base. Doesnt mean it cant be used I am sure some developer can figure out a good way to do it but square enix should stick to their own game engines it seems to work out better that way.
