Dont want to exaggerate but this have to be some of the best in game graphic i ever seen, MMO or single player.

Just look at that texturing...and level design !!!

the city of boat ships was so cool looking.  Everything in the trailer looked fantastic.  This looks like its going to be an amazing sequal.  Great trailer NCSoft.

    Momo sucks, I have proof.

I wish they would've put in some combat footage.

As long as they don't go too far with instancing in this like they did with the first game I think it might actually be good.

My my my! I am excited, a damn well put together trailer, and the 'in-game' shots looked amazing.

I skipped first GW for some reason. Won't do the same with this one.

On their web site they said they are making this one persistent like other MMOs, but it will still have instances too.

    Definitely giving this a try.

    Cool things:

    • Plant people!  Which for some reason reminds me of the plant-based race in Starflight 2 (Elowan.)
    • Sidekicking!  It's about time more games started stealing this feature.  Now you can play with friends regardless of your level difference.
    • More story/script-driven gameplay!  Until WOTLK, GW1 was really the only MMORPG I felt approached the quality of a good single player game.  So it's great to hear that they're sticking with the instanced-heavy approach (while trying to cater to those gruff persistent-world fellows.)

Things I hope make it in:

    • Jumping?  Simultaneously the least and most important feature of an MMORPG apparently.  Mostly it was irritating as hell in GW1 to be a Brave And Awesome Hero™ and be unable to scale a 2 foot tall inclined hill.  Hopefully GW2 has jumping.
    • More skill slots?  8 skill slots in GW1 limited players' options too much mid-fight, and just wasn't enough stuff.  A good solution is giving each skill an "alt-fire" (so you equip 8 things and get 16 indvidual skills.)

But realistically they'll end up doing something else entirely (possibly combining a equippable skills system with a more mainstream skill progression like you see in other MMORPGs.)

    • Interesting skills!  GW1 still has the most interesting skills in any MMORPG.  All sorts of conditional stuff, and all sorts of crazy combos you could put together.  Here's hoping their abilities don't get dumbed down too much during the transition to a more normal MMORPG experience.

At least graphics-wise, this is what i expect as of 2010.

GW2, FF XIV, Aion...all good looking. Unless Blizzard pulls off a major graphic update with "Cataclysm", they should really start to be ashamed selling WoW's looks compared to current titles.

Well now, how am I going to juggle this, FFXIV and SWTOR. At least i ll have options :) Looks good for sure, now I just need to fire up the original and get as much in that Hall as possible. Who knows what more you can bring over.

Isent Guildwars all about PVP ? no lvling , no gathering and nothing, just create a top lvl char and gank the hell out of the opposing guid.

Great looking movie , but for gameplay no its just another pvp game.

    you're terribly misinformed ZTEKAN
its not like that in GW1
and it wont be like that in GW2
but sadly for you, there will be no Hobbies in GW2 like berrypicking, knitting, crossstiching, fishing, flower arrangements...

To be fair are you sure theres no resource gathering/crafting in GW2 or have they said it will be like GW1 in this aspect. Just a question actually because I m not sure:)

My one question is .... will we be able to explore Cantha and Elona? From some of the footage it would seem so but have they said anything.

I cant wait to experience Cantha in the GW2 engine.

The original guild wars looked and played pretty good on average system specs, I assume this will do the same.

Lookin forward to this....Bet there wont be a ton of the baddy race (whatever their name is/was)

There won't be cantha and elona at release. But you can expect them in expansions. The rise of Orr made it hard to travel to Elona and Cantha became an isolationist country. At least that's what we can find in lore.

I didn't see any in-game shots all at, just some nicely animated graphics.

It was a trailer, much like the WoW ones.

I am more interested in seeing an actual game, not pretty pictures of what "could" be.

If its a proper MMORPG with a persistant world, then its a step in the right direction.

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

Um.. half of the trailer was IN-GAME shots. Watch it again or stop trolling.

I need to change my shorts.

As to having to choose games, the great thing about GW2, like the original, is you just have to buy the game.  No subs needed!

I'm just happy the art and animations have the same feel the original had, just updated.  Worth the wait, Anet!

Wasn't trolling and I suggest you rewatch the trailer.

I saw no one playing any kind of character or interaction with the world or anything.

All I saw was some carefully animated scenes.

Whether they are in the world or not, what it looks like in the actual finished game is what is important, not some nicely animated trailer.

No...just no.   Sure I can see Blizzard uping the textures a bit in the older areas and maybe add a little more use of bump mapping and poly's, but the look and feel of WoW is unique and it will stand the test of time.    Its look and feel is totally unique and I wouldn't screw with something that is not broken.    If anything all Blizzard needs to do is add more custamization to characters - like dyes for armor and clothing.      Maybe some cool barding options for mounts, too.   I really hope Blizzard never makes an MMORPG or tweaks WoW's graphics to make them look realistic - unless they can go all the way and make them look like they do in the cinematics.   :)

Just a few notes about the trailer:

    • It was played and recorded in real-time at true 1080p HD resolution, not scaled up artificially.
    • The animated lore part of the video is produced at 1080p resolution from the ground up. All assets are created at true 1080p resolution.
    • The animated, pre-rendered lore intro portion of the video was done completely in-house. This was not contracted out to a specialty studio that produces high-end pre-rendered videos. All of the illustrations, animation, editing, and rendering was done at ArenaNet.
    • The in-game part of the video is actual in-game footage. It was rendered in real-time in the game engine and recoded live using video capture hardware. Nothing was pre-rendered. All models, textures, and other assets are actual game play versions. They haven't been prettied up for marketing purposes.
    • Maps are works in progress, and may change to better fit game play.
    • The team is working hard to make the game even more beautiful for the full release.
