Free to Play, please clarify something if you know..

Most F2P games are free. As in completely free. There is no need to buy the game first. Just download, register an account, fire it up and off you go.

For the upcoming F2P DDO Unlimited, it seems we still have to buy the client, to be allowed to play the game. Can someone who knows please clarify if that's the case?

The client is Free and you can play as much as you want for Free but buy additional content in the store.

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

Ok, nice to know. I tried the free trial a while back and was pleasantly surprised by how well the game played.

Then recently, as I began poking around their site again, I saw the client was still for sale.

As in, you have to buy it and receive a key. This key needs to be registered with turbine to create a community and game account. So I thought the free-to-play crowd might still have to buy the client, in order to create a community account and access the game.

Since that's not the case, I'll just wait until it opens on September 9 and register then (I hope).
