Warning: Please excuse the spelling as I am a spell check software wh+re. Also I can't write for crap, thats why I don't do it as my job.

Game: Champions Online

Playing the OB and currently level 17 with telekenesis, telepathy, and darkness skills.

Played in Over 50 matches in PVP

Thoughts:

Character Creation:

The game offers a lot in terms to character customization. You can look like the Hulk to Inspector Gadget.

You can customize your power sets very similar to COH and be anything from a Bloodsucking Robot Ninja to a Pink Healing Butterfly Teddy Bear. Yeah.. very weird character designs.

(Crafting) Specialization:

I think its level 10 that you can actually specialize in either arms, arcane or science. This specialization is designed for tools, equipments, and spells you can make to improve your character. Once you choose the specialization you must then choose a focus under that.

I chose arcane: avatar focus which allows me to create armor and weapon (primary and secondary) with stats that is geared toward the stats of my character.

Gameplay :

Leveling

The game is designed to be very solo friendly with options for group play. I primarily soloed to level 17 with a PUG for team quests you aren't able to do on your own. This game shines because of this aspect. I work 60 hours a week and can't always have group time but I can still keep up in levels by soloing.

Warning: Your skill choice and damage output will play a bit into how well you can solo. A pure healer will obviously level slower then a high damage output build.

Items/Equipment

Believe it or not but this game actually does have equipment from common to rare drops. Yes equipment is very important because of the armor defense, and massive stat boosts. The equipment is not a requirement but will determine your level of success in pvping, and mob farming.

No equipment = Ok, Average Equipment: Better, Awesome Equipment: Greatest.

So yeah not completely equipment focused but its like having a bicycle vs a car. Yes you will get to your destination but the ride will say how quickly.

PVP:

PVP is very fun but at times can be very frustrating at times.Expect to go into one sided arena fights where all you can do is die is sacrafice deaths just to end the match.

There is player skill that is required when it comes to PVP like any other game. If you simply run and spam your skills and expect to win you will be sorely mistaken.

Healers will make and break a pvp team. I have been in long and boring fights with both sides have healers. If the healers have half a brain cell they can keep an entire team alive. Healers if built with enough endurance (power pool max) can literally never die. Yes they are near immortals but they won't be able to kill anything.

Stats are very important when it comes to character survivability. Constituion is important for any class regardless of build from mages to fighters. Your armor will also dictate your damage reduction. I dont consider my character a fighter build but still has enough armor to negate at least 50% of incoming damage.

PVP Final Thought: If you have a well designed team with a healer, attackers, and tankers you will win most pvp arena fights.

Let me know if you have any questions to certian aspects of gameplay and I can responde from my experience.

Thank you!

I also forgot to mention you can change the color of your abilities, set different costumes and find equipment that give additional abilities.

Example: Today I found a rare gun drop that gives me a maintained single focused damage ability.

Also travel abilities are fun, flying abilities are easier because you can simply fly over buildings. When you have super jump or run you have to manuever around such obstacles.
