Will Champions have built-in voice chat?

I just don't like putzin' with Ventrillo & Teamspeak.   I'm a casual, hit-n-run player (30 mins here & there), as I'm pretty busy.

All mmo's need voice chat, because you loose a lot with typing orders to your team.  Some don't look at typing, some cant type fast, some don't fight because they type all the time. WoW has voice chat but they never fixed it to work well.  D&D Online is the only game where voice works well and EVERYONE uses it !!  It's amazing how a group can really work together with voice, If you get an asshat, the group usually puts him in prospective very fast ( seems as shamming them verbally really works).

Ventrilo is very limited because unless you have a very very large and good guild, you may have to find other party members from lfg, spamming or just from chat.  If you pick up just one stray person that is not using ventrilo then the entire party can't use it because he cant understand the teams actions.

In game voice chat could make almost any game sell it self, because at random groups can work together.

I'll bet WoW likes to keep voice chat low priority because it would show the amount of kids playing it !!!

integrated voice chat is a boon and a  bane at the sametime.  A boon because it helps out alot when you've got a good team or a good guild..a bane if you get alot of kids that like to yell and talk all the time or QQ...and a definite bane when you get bossy pants jack holes who treat everyone as if they have no idea what they're doing.

If you know your super hero's roll you really dont need alot of people commanding you around as if your their puppet.

I really don't see the need for it in Champions from what I've seen so far but it wont turn me off to the game if they decide to add it in the same fashion as DDO where its limited to the group or raid your in.  From a techincal standpoint ... I doubt we'll see it within the first year, I'd think the instancing / shard system might actually be a larger factor in why its not in the game.

I kinda like not having to listen to people yack at me all the time while im immersing myself into the RPG part of the game.  Constant chatter beacuse of teamspeak or ventrillo at all times regardless if your grouped to do anything together just destroys immersion and fun of MMOs for me.

Voice chat is a necessity in a lot of games although more important in PVP games than PVE (in my experience). Still I would rather Cryptic focus on unique content than dedicating resources to redo features that are already covered by 2nd parties (Ventrillo, TS) ...least early on.

It takes me about 10-20 seconds to connect to my Ventrilo server. I don't see how that is an issue if you can do it as fast as I can.

i don't care if they put in voice chat in the game i just want the option to turn it off

if i wanted to hear people talk i would go the to local coffee house, i play games to get away from you people and hearing a voice in a game turns my stomach, most of the time i have music playing loud when i game so talking to people is the last thing i want

Yes this game really needs voice chat esp if you try to team up.  The action level is really too high to easily be able to type out what's going on or try to do any form of coordination.  Vent is just a big pain to setup and today all MMOs should have voice.  I'd say eq2 really does the best job of any game with integrated voice I've used.
