My friend started playing years ago but just came back to the game today and just wondering whats a good level 4 mission runner paid that we could easily do together? I was thinking about 2 Domis but I can't use tech 2 drones.... I dunno I'm in a Drake right now but it doesn't go much damage and he has a Golem but he can't use Tech 2 missles.
Comments
1 drake
heavy missiles for the cruisers/Battlecruisers
T1 drones for the frigates
1 raven
cruise missiles (T1 would do) for the Battleships
T1 drones for the frigates
make sure both are well tanked (T2 shield tanking is highly recomended with T1 shield rigs)
Shall I go passive or active and do they web?
your call, both work just fine
they web and scram but have your drones get rid of those frigates first
Yes, they do web. Not all the time but certain factions will web you often. Unless you have extremely good shield skills, I would be careful taking a drake in. I lost a drake early on when I went into a friends mission with him and they targeted me instead of him. I was webbed and warp scrambled and blown to bits before I had a chance to escape. I thought I had decent skills at the time to but it didnt help (passive setup on the drake). A raven with good skills can easily tank almost every level 4 mission without a problem (there are 2 that I can think of that would be very difficult but doable if you know how to handle them). A golem could easily handle those missions (with the right skills), so if you wanted to run them with your friend, make sure to let the golem go in first and gain aggro.
Atm I'm...
3 LSE
3 Invul
2 Bal control
1 dmg control
1 power diag
7 heavy missles
1 salvager
Rigs
3 core defence field extenders
It's been tanking frigates well lol.
two ravens would be great, you can put either tractor/salvager in the spare highslots, or shield / energy transfers to beef your tank up a bit.
to be honest however, any battleship can do level 4 missions, and any two battleships can do level 4s really fast.
Yeh but I don't have any money for a battleship and I don't have the skills.
My friend has two Domis but I dunno how to do the whole reping eachother thing. I have good drone skills cause I trained for the heavy drones for some reason but I have crap armour skills. So really all I can do is a drake.
Are you in same player corp? If not dont try remote repairing ,it will cause drones attack to repairing player and one of you will lost ship iirc .Anything is good when paired with golem .Killing frig/crusirs with drake is best help for golem atm i think .
Btw golem is a torpedo boat ,tell your friend start to train tech2 torps and range skills
Drake + Golem is a fine pair. You wipe out the small stuff, he kills the big stuff.

That sounds like something dumb left from the old game that has yet to be fixed. Kinda like how stupid it is to be able to shut the Alliance down with just one person.
Tech 2 drones are pretty quick to train.
I would probably go with
Golem + Domi combo.

Remote repping works just fine, granted Ive been using drones to remote rep lately but unless something has changed with this in the past year it doesnt matter. I have used remote rep modules in the past with no ill effect.
Dont rep the NPC's though as Concord frowns on that.
If you use 2 similar battleships I can recommend trading cap with cap transfer each. That overall gives both of you more cap.
But there are many different ways to do it. Personally I try to get all the salvage and loot from a mission while trying not to take too long to do it. Id say on average getting all the loot and salvage tripples the income from a mission. Though ofcourse its not as sexy as blowing shit up.
Most of the time I have a wingman to loot and salvage everything in sight while I do the mission. He is in a geddon with 4000m³ cargo and no tank so he's gotta keep out of danger though most of the time he can handle a bit of attention.. also he caries repair drones so he can help me tank.
Other times I fly with wingman in another raven and we just blast everything to bits and come back to salvage with a smaller more agile ships and possible a hauler.
Since the missions were changed to spawn NPCs in waves, drones are a bit more tricky to use than they used to be.
Also since that change it hasnt been such a good idea to bring untanked ships along just to do damage. But if you know the missions well it is still possible.. I still want to try and use a super tanked Drake or Nighthawk with stealth bomber support :P
Group mission running is a blast especially if you take in smaller ships. I have a small corp of players dedicated to learning how the fly Frigate class ships the best they can. We run level 2 missions in Tech 1 frigs and have even done a few level 3 though we usually need at least one assault for those.
The missions are challenging and exciting all the way through. I have never understood people that want to breeze through missions or even other games for that matter. If there is no challenge, no need for skill what is the point. Killing a battleship with another battleship is cool but killing a battleship with a 4 man squadron in frigates is AWESOME!
=============================
I have a soap box and I am not afraid to use it.
Ok I'm bored of it already lol I'm tanking easily in my Drake and it has 25k shield where my friend in his Raven has less. I've given this game every chance but it just isn't for me I can't stand how repetitive everything is. Now my friend is angry at me for getting him to resub and I've just quit lol.

This is in fact the fixed version. It prevents an exploit whereby someone not in same corp (and therefore not war-decced) was able to help someone in a corp who is war-decced without being able to be shot at by the guys in the war. This was the root of much frustration before it was changed. I suppose CCP felt changing it to how it is now was the lesser of two evils.
Clue: there's more to eve than missions.

i have a strange feeling that i warned you that if you just ran missions you would get bored.
missions in eve are not quests from other mmos, they are more like the wow daily quests, a way to get money and standings to do other things.
can i have your stuff please? contract up to xennith in game.
Quit over-tanking. You'll make more isk and the game is more challenging.
My mate lost his raven cause someone came and salavged our stuff so him shot and him and the concord came......... what bullshit you can't even kill people who take YOUR salvage but you can kill them if they take your can. So he quit and cause I got noone to play with I quit too as all the corps I joined suck balls. People just logon and say they can't be bothered and just switch skills and log off.
yes, you already told us that you quit.
also: LOL.
Did you even try doing anything other than missions?
Give me liberty or give me lasers
i kinda have to agree on the salvage getting stolen, but it's part of the game and quite funny as there is not that much money in it
But as already mentioned just doing missions is a ball ache i would suggest pvp and to learn pvp try joining a milita
as for the original post
a domi tank with salvage gear fitted and a cilvian blaster and a raven would be a good pair
domi goes first grab's agro then the raven flys in and presto
or forget Battle ships altogeather and use HAC's
2 ishtars with salvage gear would be even better just need a civ blaster to grab agro release drones and u away
The salvage is not yours. Only the loot belongs to you.
So your friend lost a ship and he's quitting? That attitude is doomed for failure in EvE.
There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.
