Whats with the evil Dr. Fate look alike on the main page

Hello,
I saw an ad on the main page for an article for the game. the guy on the article looked like a very angry and evil version of Dr. Fate. Just an observation but seriously what is with that? Couldn't they do a more original character design?

After seeing the full body drawing of the guy I can actually say he looks more like Dr. Strangefate from when Marvel and DC universes combined

Champions is an ancient PnP game with tons of established lore, and all the lore in CO is from that, so the main villain being a Dr Fate lookalike isn't Cryptic's doing.
thats dr destruction, he was born in 1914 and is an ex nazi super scientist war villain who asspires to rule the world with his dr fate looking power armor that could put iron man to shame and an army of variously giant robotic henchmen, his technology makes the normal high tech of the best armies of the world look like those adding machines that use the wood beads from bible times.

np i was also thinking wtf is dr fate doing in this game and got into reading up on the hero and villain npcs on the co website and found him in there, hes listed as the baddest bad guy around.
Yea, but he does def look like Dr. Fate, more of an evil Dr. Fate perhaps the Dr. Fate of the CSA lol anyways the game might be fun but I think I'll wait for DC Universe.
