Aion Is The New Dark Age of Camelot?

I have to admit I only played Aion on a friends account for a few hours to about level 7 in closed beta. At the time it felt like a WoW grind fest. Well I did some digging on the internets and Im really surprised at what Im finding.
Im finding more and more ex Dark Age of Camelot players in beta saying its the best thing they have played since DAoC. Most are saying it's the RvR system WAR should have had!
My interest have officially gone up dramatically for Aion.
The PvP involves, fighting over keeps, land, spawns, and gain access to new abilities, items, tokens for items, prestige, forts, and dungeons.
This may be the most meaningful PvP we have seen in awhile. DAoC2?

Nice links to some nice reads-thanks! I don't know if Aion is the next DaOC, but it certainly qualifies. The small amount of PvP I experienced was fun, fast, challenging, and kept my interest as did DaOC. Wasn't hard to group with anyone either.
It'll never be as good as DAoC was, but yes, I think its safe to say it is the next closest thing to it, since WAR was mostly a butchered form of RvR.
Aion's big weakness is how slow it starts out.
The endgame is fantastic. I personally know of multiple hardcore long-running PvP groups (many originally from or at one point largely invested in DAoC) that are moving to Aion.

This is the closest thing, but having 3 factions is the final key. The complexity and depth that having 3 factions adds is incredible. It makes it so no one side can truly dominate a server as the 2 weaker sides can gang up on the big guys.
please don't compare a korean grind game to DAOC
Aion is barely on the level of failures like Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault

Aion isn't the savoir of the MMO genre but it's much better, and more fun, than those two you mentioned.
Yea it is a pve grind in the low lvls but it does perk up a bit latter on.

If they have more starting zones, 3 playable factions, only one realm to choose per server, swimming, blah,...
