Legends of the West is a Roleplaying and Raiding guild. We will be based in the fantastic city of Qeynos, as we will be protecting the Western edge of the world from the evil coming from the East and Freeport. Our goal is to protect the lands and make a dent (or two) in evil's back!
We are currently seeking all races, as long as the gain they acceptance of Qeynos. This will lead to accepting only good and neutral intention classes as well that are allowed by the Qeynos guard. (So classes like Assassin, ect, won't be accepted). We are also accepting not only "goodly" people, but neutral people also who want to protect the West. We understand some people only want to protect it because their family was born in the area, ect.
Other requirments are the typical like the many other guilds popping up here. We require our applicants to be able to spend 25 hours (more the better) ingame. This ensures that our guild can progress and so can the individual members. We do not want a hundred members but we want quality players who can be on, help, and get things done.
We are also looking for previous MMORPG experience, this is a need if you want to get in the guild. We can simply not accept anyone who has never played this type of game (well, EQII is the new frontier of it, is it not?), and also someone who has little experience. We are looking for people who love to raid, love to roleplay, and have years experience.
Our guild's laws and charter are based upon three basic principles: Courage, Honor, and Fellowship. These believe are the key things each member needs to be displaying at all times. Within these three principles are another three that dip without the Courage, Honor, and Fellowship. They are Duty, Loyalty, and Teamwork. All these disciplines. To see a visual of our 'Sphere of Rules', check out this page: http://lotw.eq2guild.net/?section=charter
Raiding schedule is going to be about three/four times a week or so for the first 'couple of weeks of the games release. After we learn more information and the guild is stable, we will be raiding possibly more often in the week and hit more targets per day if time allows. This is mostly during weekdays and during weekends we'll have many quests going on. This might and probably will change around once we get more members and we can have a huge discussion on it.
Roleplaying, for the most part is expected. We understand you don't wanna RP every second of the day but as much as possible, roleplay! We know that during raids you can't exactly keep this rule in line, but perhaps saying something like "Tunare, guide my arrows to strike this evil creature's heart! /assist Kino", and such. It just adds another flavor to the raid rather than "target %t - /assist kino". Also, there really isn't any written rules on this but we can't have any "d00dz" and people saying "lol" every other line in the chat. If you are someone who is a internet-slang-addict, please contain yourself when you apply and if you make it inside the guild. This is a 'secert' pet-peeve not many people express but we're stating it here.
Our guild's maturity is adult level. We perfer your attitude and maturity be 18 and over, we could careless about what your real age is as long as you don't act like a kid. This goes the same towards the elderly living in retirement homes, if you can't keep your mind out of the gutter, don't app!
For Loot Distribution, we will be using the infamous and always solid DKP system. This is Dragon Kill Points, if you do not know what this is, please do not apply for the guild. But if you need a refresher we have information in our recruitment forums! People who participate on raids and guild quests, will earn DKP. Simply: If you participate a lot, you'll get a lot back. Sorry slackers! We don't need 'ya.
Note, almost all of the founding members know each other in Real Life. This is helping out to get things done faster in the guild, and we know RL issues going on. We believe this gives us a big advantage as compared to people only know each other through just their online name.
This is only alittle bit of information we have to share about our guild, we have a lot more at our website: http://lotw.eq2guild.net . Please poke around the website, but you NEED to read the Sticky Threads in the Recruitment Forum (http://lotw.eq2guild.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=3) before applying. We will surely be able to tell if you have a question and it is already stated somewhere there, which lowwers the "Guild Faction".
~~One last thing to mention, we are based on the US Central Time Zone as our founding members and guild leader are from this area, not everyone lives on the Eastern and Western coasts of the US. Not to mention if you need extra time on the EST (as compared to other guild's raiding schedules), or are available to play earlier on the West Coast, we might be right for you!~~
MORE MERRY NEWS: I believe our guild has gotten some of the best applications I have seen on all these guild website's and I am really proud. We are recieving an average of over 1 app a day now which is really great seeing the quality of the apps and compared to other guild's. We are not a guild that is going to accept a TON of applicants and we are actually voting No on about half of them sadly. We require many things from our members and to get even half the ones accepted plus the fact the number of them in this short of time is incredible. If you want to join, you better soon. That is all I can really say without stating the fact that you'll regret it later!
October 20: We are currently at 18 strong members (quality over quanity! We are taking our time) with many applicants pending. The following classes are CLOSED, but you can apply and wait pending, but that will be a long process that might never take place. They are: NOTHING IS FOR SURE, APPLY PEOPLE!. We are going to keep our Guild Membership to a max of around 36 (our goal is to have all the sub-classes by 30-32) strong and have the following archtypes accepted:
32 to 36 Members Total [goal]
- 8 - Fighter
- 6 - Mage
- 8 - Priest
- 6 - Scout
- 2 to 6 - REMAINING (Spots will be open to Subclass(es) we feel that we are low on or have a dire need of, or Fighter/Priest urgency)
LotW will have before applications are closed, atleast 1 member in each of the following sub-classes. The max for each will be 3 members, unless you are in the Fighter or Priest archtype where the limit is possibly 4. Or unless the Guild Leader lets you in...
[Good] Templar, Mystic, Paladin, Monk, Conjuror, Illusionist, Swashbuckler, Ranger
[Neutral] Fury, Warden, Berserker, Guardian, Wizard, Warlock, Dirge and Troubador
So as you see, our spots are filling up and we are going to stop accepting applications on Halloween (October 31st) so we have time to have a Final Member Cut (if people are iffy on the guild, they leave then), and have our Officer/Class Guide elections and such. We will resume accepting applications weeks after the game is released so we know how the game's mechanics work and such, so we can concentrate on the game rather than applicants.
Thanks for your time and we hope you apply!!
~ Kino Es'ter (Guild Leader)
