aion Nvidia motherboard users MUST READ

riddlyriddly Member Posts: 6

HELLO

if you have a NVIDIA mobo and are trying to play AION and can't  must read this

what happend to me was. That i could launch the game and type in my user name and pass word and clicked OK. And the game would just locked up on me.!!!!!! For some reison i could not do anything. i had no net access most of my computer would not responed to commands. So i was forced to reboot

to fix the problem u must uninstall (forceware network access manager ). What happends is that when u update your motherboards drivers..After u have installed the drivers you are given a popup asking you if u want to install nFoce network accsess manager{ yes or no}.  IF you clicked yes like i did. this is the problem

this is nvidia's firewall u can accsess it though the Nvidia's control panel. if u want to keep it u must ADD the files below for access.  BUT IF U HAVE A FIREWALL RUNNING U DONT NEED nvidia's. BUT U WILL STILL NEED TO ALLOW THEIS FILES ACCESS

The default locations for each file are as follows:

"C:Program FilesNCSoftAionin32AION.bin"

"C:Program FilesNCSoftAionin32GameGuard.des"

"C:Program FilesNCSoftAionin32GameGuardGameMon.des"

"C:Program FilesNCSoftLauncherNCLauncher.exe"

this worked for me!!!! let me know if it works

Never really had that issue, but if I do nice tip. It may have actually helped me with another issue. When I login to a ventrillo server my computer locks up for a bit, and then lets me on, but If I open settings etc, it'll lock up again. This could very well be why. Which nVidia board do you use? I use the epic fail x630i.

Motherboard drivers that come with a firewall?

Must be an onboard NIC and an "extras" installer.

Which Nvidia board do you have?

    LineageII | LoTRO | RFO | 9Dragons | Aion | Perfect World | Ether Saga | Dungeon Runners | GuildWars 1 and 2 | Hellgate London | tCoS | Warhammer | AoC | Tabula Rasa | SWTOR

how i found this out was i was trying diffrent setting of my windows fire wall and mcafee firewall and running the aion client when i did the ctrl+alt+delete to kill the game i was looking in the processes to see what was running and noted (NSVCAPPFLT.EXE ) was running my cpu to over 50 to 70 % so after reboot i looked it up ti see what it was thats how i found out that it was nvidia's ver. of a firewall and a lot of people dont like it

and once i uninstalled it the Aion client froz for a sec then got the (error could not connect to auth server) this would never happen when nvidia's nework accsess man. was in stalled the game would just look up and i would lose my net and have to reboot

Dude, as soon as I first setup my old PC with the firewall built in the NVidia MB, I realized I had to shut it.

It was corrupting EVERY SINGLE DOWNLOAD I did until I shut it.

Built in hardware firewalls on motherboards are crap. No clue why NVidia uses them.

Yeah nVidia is infamous with their programs. Especially on the 600 boards. Nearly half of the preinstalled programs are either garbage or useless. As I said untill it messes up my games to a point I can't handle I'll try to remedy.

It didn't want to uninstall for me, so I rather not mess with atm. If you know how to remedy that please tell meh.

you should just be able to go to control panel and then add or remove programs <for xp or vista >control panel and then programs and features find it in the list there and uninstall it.  i wallways use classic view hopefully this helps
