Maybe not on release, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they released in a patch.  The world probably be just as massive as the last game, if not bigger, but since it's persistent they might  have to do away with traveling via quick map travel.  Kinda crossing my fingers for teleportation :).   They might have to add mounts, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

As for flying mounts like dragons, they specifically said players would not be able to fly.   I'm kinda happy about that.  Flying mounts kinda of ruined WoW's world PvP.  But then again, there's no doubt that this game will have some form of expansion packs.  There's still two other continents and likely some undiscovered continents as well.

    This statement is false.

Although I don't think they will have mounts, and that's okay, I still think they should consider adding them just to have more content and just for fun.

There is not benefits of having a mount if it only serves as a money sink in a game that has portalls for instant travel and skills like sprint for... sprinting. "More content and just for fun" is hippie-talk. I wouldn't waste manhours by indulging hippies. It is not good enough reason.

Even ES4:Oblivion had mounts. They were a money-sink just like the player houses were. Served no other purpose.

One game that has horses and properly uses them within the game is Mount&Blade which has an excellent combat system for a small indie game.

You may chooce: Use time by making mounts just for fun OR fixing bugs and creating actual content.

Why would GW2 have Portals if you could just Instant Travel like in GW1?

Think about it for a sec

Why GW1 has portals even when it has instant travel?

In a way, I am disappointed that there would be a need for mounts.  I like map travel and the instanced world of Guild Wars.  It is very quick and easy to get anywhere I need to go.

In another way, I am excited to be able to have a mount, but I would ranther have a pack mule.   Alas, there will be no flying or flying mounts in Guild Wars 2, which is a bummer.  I figure mounts will be horses or something along that line.  I have not seen any screen shots of mounts, has anyone see one yet?

i think mounts shouldnt be  required  but an option one of the main things i hate about gw1 is the fact that i have to get from one place to another before i can map travel

ideally it woulda been nice to have something besides a skill that allows you to run quicker when i want to get to point a to b it would be nice to have some form of quicker movement

i think it would also remove the need for people to get runs  as it stands now you have ppl charging insane amounts to run ppl to multiple places and in reality that detracts from the actual game some form of faster movement would eliminate the need to be "ran" anywhere as you would have something that would help you get past mobs faster

though as i stated before it should be an option made available to those who  want it and not required

( and not from the nc store either i dont want to pay real cash for an in game item )
