Just install the Spamenot addon its not hard, you will get zero gold spam in chat and all those annoying tells blocked from goldsellers. But to be honest this should be an in game feature anyway blizzard could put something similar this in the client, but they don't?
WoW has next to no gold spammers anymore they get banned very fast. haven't seen one for a few months on my server
Well, the OP is from Portugal, so perhaps the problem is worse on the European servers? (or maybe OP plays the Chinese version? ) Regardless, it appears that your results may vary.
I never like to let the developers off the hook with regards to the gold selling problem, as there are steps they can take however chose not to for a variety of reasons. (some practical, some financial, and some you just can't fathonm)
But it seems to me Blizzard has worked very hard to make changes over the year to reduce the effects of RMT. Best gear is all BOP as I recall, and though I no longer play I've read lots of posts stating earning gold in WOW is much easier than it was back in the vanilla WOW days. (i.e. running daily quests supposedly brings you all the cash you could ever need)
What I wonder is, what are people spending gold on that they can't easily earn in the game. Is it special, expensive mounts? Or the high cost of repairs or raiding supplies/ (thought they had resolved those issues as well).
I agree, there's no way to really stop gold selling, but there are steps as mentioned by others (i.e restricting access to chat channels) that can help.

Blizzard isn't going to do anything to risk getting knocked off the top of the deck as being the number 1 P2P MMO. The whole 'Gold Buying' market is running full speed ahead, because it's keeping people playing where they don't have to grind things out. If Blizzard actually put a crack down on this type of thing, the numbers of players would drop by leaps and bounds.
Case in point, for a long time now on the Warhammer Online website, they have kept a running tab of gold sellers that were banned. They ended up kicking so many they hurt the overall economy of the game.
Long story short, selling gold and items is bad, but if it keeps people playing, then maybe the developers should have their own gold buying program direct to players of the game.
when i quit like a year ago area 52 had no spam at all, when i went back like a month or 2 ago for like a week to check out the new druid skins it was infested. that new one suzie something is as bad as peons was.
but back when peons was over running the servers i used a spambot mod. it worked great, back then you couldn't auto report (right click the name), it would auto block the tell and automaticly open a ticket fill it out for you and you just had to confirm. only people that was on your friends list and guild list could send me a tell. blocked everyone else but told them the code to send you a tell. and as we know no one is playing the spammers so they don't bother with the code.
I just started playing like a week ago and most of my time has been spent in smaller areas where I suppose it wouldn't be as prevalent. But I did see a pile of bodies in Stormwind once. They seemed to be spelling something out but I couldn't figure out what because some of it had been moved. A day or so later, I saw it again and saw what it said:
MMOP.COM
WTF? How do you do that? >.< I've never seen someone advertise like that before...
Yep..GM tickets used to get anwer in 10 minutes i remember...now i put a ticket on and 2 days later i have an ingame mail from them lol But nevermind..blizz is getting huge amounts of dollars and they pay less GMs to work..so more income...
I am pretty sure that the OP is a troll. You do not 'open a ticket' for goldsellers any more. If you see spam in chat, you right click and it's a one click report method. It takes 2 seconds. The person who spammed is instantly added to your ignore list (so you never see them again) and once 5 people report them, they are booted from the server until a GM can investiage it.
