I was just wondering why MMO's don't let us use points in character creation to put on stats such as strength or dex. Like the D&D system. The last game I played that let me do that was DAoC. For me, it was awesome in DAoC because it let you customize alot more. I wonder why they dont really do that any more... hmm. Any thoughts?

EVE used to do it, not sure if they still do since they changed their character creation model.
In character creation, you get a random set of stats based on your choices of profession, race, etc. In a lot of games, as you level, you can choose which stats to increase. I think Anarchy Online is probably the best system I've ever seen for doing this, they have 75+ skills to manage, some of which are useful to your particular profession, some are completely worthless and ignored. You don't (and shouldn't) get to do it during character creation, but at every level thereafter, you get points to spend to improve your character.
