OB? CB? 1.5 release? need some help please.

I had to reformat my hard drive and lost Aion so I am going to have to redown load the game.

Could some one please help explain this to me because the guy I talked to at NCsoft was not very helpfull.

I was told that I would have to download the game as I did when I pre ordered then I would have to goto fileplanet or one of the other sites listed and down load the  open beta and was told that this could take up to a few days to do and thats after I told him I am on a 20meg cable conection.

Is this right? this game is not going to work like every other mmo I have ever got where you just instal the game be it from a disk or digital download and the patcher takes care of every thing after that?

Will I then have to do some thing simular to this again at the regular release date?

Up to 2 days to download? is he serious? it only took me like 8 hours to down load darkfall and that was darkfall.

Could some one please give me some information on this so I do it right.

I re-downloaded it through steam and it took about 2hrs or so.

I got 12 mb line and it took me 5 hours to download and install the full 9.5GB client from FP

You can get it from FilePlanet and it might take a day to download because they cap your download speed if you use a free server. If you are a paying subscriber, you can get it much faster. The NCSoft launcher takes much longer to download, but the website has a link for a torrent to download faster. After you have the client, the launcher will update itself. You can install from a disk if you like when you get it.

This client will be what you get at the regular release, but there might be some small updates that your launcher will grab, so you don't need to redownload unless the file gets corrupted.

It can take up to 2 days to download, yeah, depending on where you are getting it from and how bogged down it is. I used the torrent file and it only took a couple hours. That was on the first day when there weren't as many seeds either.

It wont take 2 days on that connection.

The client you will download will be the 1.5 client which means you are good for OB and Launch. Also the game launcher will auto patch any files that you need patched like normal. Ncsoft will also be giving you the chance to download patches at a exe file.

If I preoder the game on say gamestop... will i be able to participate in the open beta that fileplanet has going on, on the 6th I believe it is?

As long as you got pre-order codes and applied them to your Play NC account, you should be able to get into the OB.

I believe Fileplanet is out of keys, but it's not exclusive for FP, Open Beta includes people who have pre-orders for the game.
