error : the program is unavailable in your country...

in Aion

Hi all.. I preordered aion since july and I could play during closed beta. Yesterday I installed the 1.5.1 patch and the above message came out. I'm from Asia and my version is US. Why suddenly this message came out? I know open beta starts only on 6th september... but I'm worried about that message... any ideas? Thanks!.

    From what I gatherered so far, the problem is on Ncsoft side so you should not worry about it.

    But... i'm not 100% sure. I have the same problem though, so if someone actually know for sure, please do tell us whats wrong. :)

    I have the same problem and I am living in Canada.

    #1 Try making sure you are running the operating system with Admin privilege.

    #2 Launcher will not let you into the game since servers are down and patching atm in preparation for OBT anyways.

    #3 People with similar problems already reported, and NCsoft already replied that everything will be up and running for OBT.

    #4 It seems this problem happen more often from people using file planet downloads, but unconfirmed.

    Oh I see! I read in other thread many have the same error message. I think we should be ok. Thank you all for your replies. ^^ Let's wait and see if we can login next week! See you all there. (I hoped!)

    I did pre-order and participate in closed betas.

    I patched to 1.5 on 08/31/2009 and I could see the log in sreen no problem.  Since September I´ve seen the same error (Country not allowed) when trying to log in. I am in South America and using Win7X64.

    But I am not worried because I am sure It´s not a client side problem. Servers are down and noone is allowed to log in, so we shouldn´t have this error when  beta servers are up on Sept 6.

    am in Ohio so its something on NCsofts part i am lead to believe.

    Great, so that download I spent all night doing at a snails pace from File Planet, then got this message, then thought oh, i need to find a euro version to download...and uninstalled...

    "Once the update to the GameGuard server is complete the error should go away if you have the full Open Beta 1.5.0.3 update installed."

    Even though she said it would be ready via launcher shortly. It is not. The servers are still 1.5.0.2. so don't freak out about that one either. If these issues occur near Sept 6th NCsoft is gunna be getting some really pissed customers.

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
