Tired of CO already....sigh

Played CO in late beta and early release. Preordered and got the 6 month sub. Levelled to 32. Damn game is mostly solo because people want to clear their own mission list. If I wanted to solo...I would play Fallout 3 and all the expansions (great game). In an MMO it shouldn't be so difficult to recruit and keep teams up. I love SG teams as well as pugs. The opening day nerfs kinda slowed down the new super heroes. Sure it was needed in many areas, but the devs were aware of the problems during beta. I uninstalled the game and will focus on the Aion beta this Sunday. After a few months I'll return to CO to check the state of the game. If it still blows I'll move on, play Aion or re-sub old reliable COH. Here's hoping CO will get their shit together.

Make friends, join a guild, group with them. Don't expect people to stand around waiting to group with you. Make it happen all by yourself. I've spent more time grouped than solo since starting CO.

But you're right, there could be more grouping tools to make it all easier and nicer. Waiting a couple months wouldn't hurt at all as grouping options are probably one of the top items for the game's continued development.

I played the OB and I now have a level 10 character, but so far the game is not sucking me in.  Yes the character creation is cool and nifty, but the gameplay itself just doesn't have the intrigue or draw for me.  The main problem for me is that the whole world just feels disconnected.  In other traditional MMOs, I can run from one zone to the next and get the feeling like the zones are connected to each other creating a world.  In this game, it's more like a collection of maps.   With the whole instancing thing and the very solo-heavy gameplay, I really feel like I'm playing a single player game.  Does this game have any 5-6 player grouping content in the later levels?  For me, that's the type of battles I enjoy.

Regarding your opinion on the world, i agree. I think WoW does this better then any other game out there.

This is exactly how I felt playing the open beta and what made me not buy the game.

Yeah CO is a disaster.  It's not going to be successful, it'll have maybe 50k subs tops when all the initial hype dies down.  It's complete garbage.

Not going to trash the game, won't try to predict how it'll do over the long haul, but I got tired of it during open beta. Loved making chars, wasn't so motivated to actually play them. Usually when I've beta'd I'm psyched to get on and play as much as possible. With CO, I was like "OB is ending soon, I should log on... nah"  That surprised me a lot.

Im still having alot of fun in CO.

My sentiments exactly, especially the last 3 sentences.

I was more psyched for this game than most, as I really enjoyed CoH and was a long time subscriber.  However, CO felt like an extreme mess and was a complete letdown in beta. It wasn't difficult to see that this game severely lacked potential and would have trouble finding any long term success. It was apparent to me that while this game started off with promise, Cryptic obtaining the Star Trek IP spelled doom for this game. Considering that Star Trek has some appeal to me, that may actually be a good thing.

I'll be the first to admit I was wrong if CO is very successful in the long term, after the initial release.

    Your fail comment, failed.

Level 32 already ? This game must really cater to the "super casuals" out there.

It is actually.  You could easily spend a week or two playing a few hours a day and see all the content and sufficiently level to 40.

I feel the same way. Even CoH had adjacent city zones that made sense. I also have a lv 10 character, and I'm going to force myself thru the free month. It is possible for the game to grow on me, but I doubt it. On top of that I can't seem to kill level 10 bosses, so I'm kinda stuck on both of my quests.

Just wait for Aion. Champions Online = epic fail and  will be dead with in a year.

and you have a feel for the game how? (lvl 10 is done in one sitting....) How about getting to 15....or 20? They do have cities....but are they supposed to clone CoH? Or maybe you guys play games too much to be satisfied by any new game?

and i really hope that's not you in your avatar....

I'll have to want to get to level 20 in the first place.. But yeah typically whether I like a game early on is a good indicator if I'll like it in the future. I mentioned CoH because of the map system. They went backward in my opinion. And yes I play plenty of games, not usually MMOs though.
