I know this question was probably asked before, but I am going to ask it anyways.
Is this game going to be open world as well or just another loading instance every 5 minutes from point A to point B?
As I was going through the countless threads, all I see people posting, what will end game be like and if there is a end game I am just assuming there is a level cap and if there is a level cap I am also assuming this game is taking a linear direction when it comes to leveling?
So this would be more of a Star Wars theme park mmorpg than a Sandbox mmorpg right?

Yeah. If you're looking for a sandbox game this one definitely won't be for you. It's going to have a lot of instanced quests and very linear progression. At least that's how I'm seeing it. Not to say that's a bad thing as far as I am concerned, but if you're looking for the next SWG you'll be disappointed.
Too early to tell, but from the looks of it it's probably an instanced MMO as far as the main plot is concerned. It is unknown if the normal world will be instanced or free roaming.
It doesn't seem to be a sandbox at all.
The information that I have been reading is that the new Star Wars online game wont be sandbox at all.
So if you still want to live the grand years of the old SWG, best sign onto a SWG Emu and get your fix there.
I myself am still skeptical on this new Star Wars, but me being a Star Wars geek, well, I going to play it anyways.
I just wish since there not going the road of a sandbox mmorpg, they might as well make it for the Xbox 360 or PS3, cause the way the game is looking, it can definitley work on console platforms.
It would definitely be a pioneer mmo game on a console since the gameplay reminds me alot of Knights of the Old Republic. I always wondered how KotOR would play if it was a online game. Because both KotOR were fantastic singleplayer games.
Hopefully TOR outshines the other 2 since its an online experience. But I am not going to get myself too hyped up for it, at least I hope not.. LOL
Yup
Imagine KotOR. Now imagine KotOR a little bit different - there ya go!

Yeah, same as everyone else said. Tons of instances, and probably loading screens. EQ2 was gross because you couldn't even go through a whole town without 6 different loading screens.
There's no way everyone is going to have unique "stories" and tons of voice overs without instances and crap. As much as everyone is hoping TOR is going to be the Star Wars saviour, it most likely will not.

The game definitely won't be a sandbox, but the level of instancing is still anyone's guess.
We have still only seen a few gameplay videos. A lot of the time in those videos was speant in the huge outside world areas which definitely don't look instanced to me. I'm sure the whole mission with the captain aboard the ship IS instanced, but no one really knows how much of the game is that way at this point.
I personally expect to see a healthy blend of the two, rather than an 'everything is instanced' situation like AoC.
There will be multiple zones per planet. I think it was mentioned that anywhere from 2-5 zones albeit that was preliminary. We do not know how the change between zones is handled - whether it will be loading screen or softload, like in WoW. We also do not know how the travel from planet to planet is handled. Space is mentioned, but no further information about it is available.
And yes, it will be have a lot of instanced content, we have already seen Flashpoint story instances that I believe will be available for 1-6 players, but we have not seen more typical dungeons or raids that have also been hinted at. We also know that some Flashpoints take place aboard starships in space.
As you have seen with the videos, flashpoints will apprear as red doorways. It is unclear at this point if it loads a new zone, or you just get "phased" to your own "reality".
