Last I heard max score on SATs was 1600... Could be mistaken tho.
I got like a 1360 or so, but that was long enough ago that my score qualifies to some point adjustment which bumps it up another 60 points to a 1420 or so. I was really dissapointed in my SAT scores personally, I took the PSAT when I was in High School and got a 1450 or 1480 or something after staying up and partying all night the night before, DAMN high score whatever it was, but I never took the SATs while I was in High School, the day I was scheduled to take it I blew it off to go to the State Fair or something, don't remember. I didn't take the actual SATs until like 7 years after I had graduated from high School.
EDIT: Oops, typo, meant 1600.

And I did just find this, the SAT will be changing for the Class of 2006, the current tests should still use the old system, but it seems starting next year they're changing it all up, 3 sections now worth 200-800 points, therefore the max score will be 2400.

I took it twice and my first score was 1520 and second was 1600. I was quite happy to get that 1600, though I did have to work my ass off for those 80 points... they really need to make that test a bit easier.

I don't think they should have PSAT or allow people to retake the SAT. Hardly an accurate measurement if you can take and retake the test, or have pre-test exams/courses. School is supposed to be the preparation.
But, no way to avoid the Kaplan type courses I suppose.
Back to the topic - congratulations Regal. You should be happy.
I love how every internet nerd got a 1600 all of a sudden. I'm very happy with my score and plan to major in biology and eventually apply to medical school. Not sure on what school yet, but will probably go somewhere close to home(live in Brooklyn).
The Maximum has been 1600 since the SAT was created.

Grats on the SAT!
My BS was Molecular Biology (pre-Med) then went to Southwest Medical School. I thought that was the prefect BS for pre-med.
You'd do better to take something non-science related when it comes to Med school admissions.
They want a well-rounded education - and could care less what you know in the sciences. Believe me, they will cram all the science you need down your throat. Not having to un-teach you just makes things easier.
Humanities is probably a great choice for pre-med, just make sure you have enough science knowledge to do well on the MCAT. It's far more important to Med school admission than the SAT is to college.

Sorry, wasn't trying to steal your thunder or anything, definitely congratz on your score, very impressive, meant to say that in the first post but seem to have forgotten it, must be the drugs.

1600 has been the max SAT score for quite awhile (800/800). Did they change the scoring scale?
Congrats Regal_TR - great job.

Very nice Regal!
What are you going to take in college?
yea I'm the second class to take that (2007)
we've been told in school over and over that they're changing it for our class...
they're taking out geometry, and putting in algebra II...doesn't matter to me, except that I didn't do so well in algebra II (low
and they're also like taking out analogies and replacing that
they're changing a lot of stuff, but all the better...
or maybe not, because they are making it harder
and I"m like the beta class to try it out...WOOHOO! I"M IN THE SAT BETA!
