Well before I start this topic please understand that I'm in no way attempting to flam, troll, or come off in any way negative to EQ2 or SOE.

Now with that being said, I pose the question of wether or not you the community truely feel that EQ2 is actually ready for release? Do you believe that it has had enough time in beta testing to work most of the bugs/exploits especially considering they just made a fairly large change to classes recently. I pose this question because I am concerned that SOE is pushing EQ2 out the door before it has had enough time to even be ready for a full scale release.

Well, let me know how you all feel about this?

I think SoE uses a Tiered testing approach.

So there are internal testers working on changes that will go out to the Beta testers on the next patch. Sometimes companies will have more than 1 Tier. That's really the best approach if it is a large, complex system.

The point is, there's no way to tell how much they've addressed simply by looking at the last Beta patch... or it's size.

I think they will be ready, even for a Nov 8th release. I also think there will be items requiring a patch after release, like all MMORPGs, and they will be flamed for it even if it's minor.

If they miss something major, I may flame them myself. image

2 Weeks and this game is supposed to be live....

Sorry, but there is a good chance we have a SWG coming, as all these HUGE revamps were posted, but not yet in the beta for good testing.  I'm thinking that "some" like the artisan revamp will be post release changes, but could be wrong.  All in all, the game WILL be buggy if they do large additions as they promised, or it will be a post release promise, which whatever they tell you is the timeframe...double it.   If it comes out on time, be happy, but most MMO improvements are always "late", due to other issues.

Is it ready today, no. Will it be ready in 2 weeks..only SOE knows. Even if released today it is far better than SWG/AO/HZ at release. I beta'ed those also and canceled my pre orders before release, except for HZ, I plead temporary insanity on that one.

    I miss DAoC

In the 2 1/2 months i been in beta i seen loads of improvement and recently they have worked hard to combat leaks and server lag.

However,i think they will not manage class balnce before the game goes live and my experience with betas is that overpowered classes do get the nerf early enough but underpowered classes get left for a looong time before been buffed once in live version.

Rogue of EQlive comes to mine took 1 year to get sorted.Merc in DAoC,i posted and posted it was underpowered all thru beta and got nothing done but some useless attacks added. It went live and ppl complained and took a whooping 2 years to correct the merc!

I fear same thing will happen to a class i wanted to follow going live ,the scout to rogue to swashbuckler.

AS things stand i am going bard or predator simply because i have no 1 ot 2 years for them to buff the class unless some last weeks patches changes this.
