Basically when I attempted to re-roll the last time, I found it hard because in the low levels, it is nigh on impossible to find a group to do the epic story line content with. Is this still apparent nowadays? I tried 5 months ago and this was still the case. Any advise or pointers would be great

Some book quests were made soloable.
REALITY CHECK
i went back to lotro about a month ago. it was fun again for about 3 days, but the completely empty world made is boring fast. i'd run into people once in a while. like maybe 1 or 2 people an hour or so. pretty much anyone i saw was at max level though so it was pointless for me
Brandywine is always mobbed. Always a lot of people on.
This, really, is not the case.

I've never had that problem on my server. There are always people running around, at all hours.

I realize you seem to be Turbine's #1 fan and all (love your post attacking people calling SoM a "mini-expansion" on the official forums, BTW), but how many people have to complain about lack of finding people to play with, for you to actually acknowledge there is a problem? I've seen dozens of them here (2 in this thread besides me), so you need hundreds? 1000s?

It really depends on the server you're on and the time you're playing.
I can see this maybe being an issue on the lower pop servers, but I can speak from experience on Landroval that there are always people running around in all the areas, especially during the weekends.
Another thing to consider is this was a holiday weekend in the US so pops might have fallen off a bit because of that as well, but again, Landroval seemed plenty busy.
As for the epic line quests OP. There was a huge revamp of the areas covering the first 20ish levels. All content was redone to make it more solo friendly to help deal with the issue of some people having difficulty finding groups.
Also, join the GLFF(global looking for fellowship), or GOOC(global out of character) channels when looking for groups. You will have much better success then on the regional channels nowadays.
Hope that helps.

I was playing on Firefoot for a long while, which was a recommended server for new players. (really low server pop) I never had a problem finding a group within a day or 2 of logging in. If you find a kin there should be someone willing to run you through them in 20 minutes anyway. The books aren't really all that useful anymore anyway except for Mines of Moria ones and the leveling ones. I wouldn't let it be the reason you don't come back. It is a pretty fantastic game, just gets old after a while and the new expansion sounds rather dissapointing to me.
I returned to the game about three weeks ago and started a new character.... I know that there have been a lot of complaints about not finding anyone on the servers accept for high levels...but for me,,, this was not the case at all.. I am on Brandywine server...and i have every dungeon up to my level (33 atm) and have done all the book quests with groups.. Almost every day that I am online, i am also in a random group just to get quests done and to have a good time!.. So..i know that people have been complaining or worried about returning to the game,,but it ISN"T A PROBLEM AT ALL!!!! on Brandywine at least...great server...so come play!!

Why don't you join Brandywine? Seriusly, I will pay you the transfer fee myself, so at least we won't have to bump into your totally skewed, one sided whining all the time.
Check the post above mine, seems Brandywine has all what you're missing

I play on a medium-sized server (Arkenstone) and starting from late afternoon EST till early night I never met any situation where you are stuck for a long time. Well, if you expect that you'll find people waiting for you in front of all instances, you'll be very disappointed. If on the other hand, you start asking in LFF (or in GLFF) for people willing to quest with you, you will sometimes instantly, sometimes within minutes, find other players. Sometimes it can't take half an hour to get a good group, but if patience is not your best virtue, MMMPORGS are probably the worst choice in terms of gaming.
If you appear to be really lost, try getting into a kin. I have the luck (but I suppose 99% of the kins work like that) to be questing extensively with lots of my kin fellows, and even endgamers are more than available to help you! Try asking in your kin channel if anyone wants to help you. Most of the time the response will be amazing, even beyond your expectations.
There are people who enjoy a more populated server. For those i would recomend Brandywine, Landroval and Elendilmir. I've re-rolled alot of toons on those servers and population is very abundant. Don't know durint the week, but at weekends there is always a GB group forming and a GA group forming all the time.
If you are in a Low Population server it would do you much good if you joined a Kinship. Those are game changing.
