Back in the day playing EQ my friend and I used to run around Maiden's Eye and pick up every mob that we could until we had a huge train...and I'm talking HUGE. Like all those nuking Xi things and the skeletons and wolves and the neanderthal dudes and whatnot all chasing us. Then, just seconds before we got to the Dawnshroud Peaks entrance we'd /shout "Train to DSP!" and then plow into there and run straight through. There were always people sitting at the zone line who got clobbered.
Yeah, it was kinda mean, but it was also funny as hell. We only did it a few times. Wouldn't want to be accused of griefing, even though I know that's what it was.
I really haven't done much of anything like that since, though. I'm mostly not a jerk in MMOs, although I do play one in real life.
Let's see a while back, I put 2 different characters into a rather large guild in wow. played with them several months, never letting anyone know I controlled both characters I had put in.
Worked my way up the ranks, and eventually gained the trust of the GM to have access to all guild bank tabs.
I robbed the bank while noone was on a xferred off the server with character 1.
Waited quietly for 5 days for blizzard to replace all the items that had been stolen. Then I took character 2 and did it again.
I completelly destroyed two MMORPGs by myself. Making thousands of players quit, servers close and people being forced to leave indirectly because of my actions. And I damaged many other MMORPGs to different degrees. All unintentionally, off course.
Richard Garriott?

I was in a WSG on my origional horde main with 5 of my horde guildies when I noticed my alliance guild leader on the other side (I only had one alliance toon). He was an elitist blowhard all the time during raids so I told all my guildies that he had tried to camp me earlier in the week and needs to be taught a lesson. We got all the other guys in the bg in on it and split into two groups. One group turtled the flag room and me and my guildies spent the entire bg killing him. After over an hour we killed him almost 50 times until he quit the bg. Me and my guildies spent the rest of the week doing the same thing everytime he showed up in a bg we were in. Word ended up getting around that everytime anyone saw him he was marked for death. The guy couldn't do anything without being targeted by everyone on the horde side. He used to ask all the time why everyone only goes after him in bgs. I even joined bgs with him on my ally toon and saw people still keying in on him for the whole bg. He eventually resexed and changed his name to get the target off his head. I still have never told him I was the one that started the whole thing. I didn't intend for it to get that far but it was pretty funny to listen to him rant about it.
Some people were RP'ing a wedding in WoW on a non-RP server, they were taking it very seriously, they had a priest, a groom in a suit and people like kneeling in an aisle and all sorts of shit. So I come in and start watching and talking shit and some of them are telling me to be quiet, so right at the end I jump on this bowl pedestal in between the bride and groom while they are making their final vows and I start dancing and jumping around. Needless to say I got flamed heavily for it, it was bizarre being this noob discovering the world and you stumble upon a wedding of all things, there was a quest-giver in there too!
That's not really "evil." That's just normal behavior for trolls. I did discover two people having cyber sex in WoW though so I stripped down to my underwear, walked in on them (they were hiding in that subway area), and said, "Can I join?" The girl ran off (probably embarassed) and the guy started hurling curses at me and calling me a "_____ block."
This reminded me of one of the funniest things I ever seen in a MMORPG and it happened in DAOC. WE had an awesome Village in DAOC guild houses and players housing in all the same area....So I run into the GM's house just to look at his house and remember I needed to grab some pots out of the vault. I run down the steps and the GM is on his bed a Midgard Troll and has none of his armor on and is sitting there with a girl toon from the guild who has no armor on.... I didnt see any chat or anything but it was like I had just walked in on these two..didn't even use the vault just ran right back up there stairs. It was never mentioned in guild chat or anything but it was creepy lol.

Just came to think of the most "evil" thing I 've seen in an MMO: www.youtube.com/watch watch in HD "A girl who played World of Warcraft died in real life and the friends she had met in the game planned an in-game funeral for her. They posted about the event on the message boards and urged people not to bust it up. I don't think I need to explain what happened; the video speaks for itself."

Yeah me, I found that rather sad on both counts but I'm sure the person that past away was looking down on it all and going....
As a raid leader I did'ent mess around. Forming a raid one time and we had too many casters, so I ask all the casters to /random for raid spots. (2 spots 3 casters) .. we'll a numbnut hunter yelps on Vent "whats the roll for?" and before I can answer /randoms 5 or 6 times too.
I tell him to stop it that I'm working out raid placements ... and the douche /randoms a couple more times. Again on vent (now irritated) I tell him "I DARE you to /random again ..." Some of my guildeys, giggling, dare him to do it.
Foolish boy hits another /random. Well we had room for all the caster then .. after I kicked his arse from the raid. There was much QQing and hae eventually quit the guild the next day /shrug.
I've always been like that as a raid leader though. I love to joke and screw about as much as the next person, but theres a time and place. Messing around on boss fights usually ment a warning then kicked on second time. My raid even adopted the, as they called it, "The three shush rule" .. meaning if I had to say "shush!" a third time on vent .. someone was getting kicked lol.
In LOTRO, I was leveling a Guardian in the forest near Combe and needed to finish this one quest. I had gone around and done all the other race's starting areas so I was over-leveled for this place, lvl 16.
A lvl 11 rolls up and wants to group up to do the quest. I had done this quest before on alts and knew I would be carrying him through it.
After grouping we stood there for a second, I guess he was waiting for me to start. Then, I had a flash of inspiration. "After you" I said. He replied, "LOL, OK"
After he had all the aggro, I ran to the chest, got the loot and turned to help him, but he died before I could save him.
I slipped a heal on purpose because someone was whiney and annoying. Yes, that got the person to cry more, but since I couldn't stop laughing it was tolerable.

Back in EQ days there was a pickup raid forming at the entrance to Umbral Plains. And it took like 3 hours to form. I really didnt want to raid if it took longer than an hour. When the raid finally started i logged out my cleric and logged into my bard that was camped there Aggroed the whole zone had "bard run" and trained the whole raid. I was real cocky with my bard back then. I logged back in on my cleric and said i went LD What happened? Everyone was bitchin about the train some stupid bard did. It was soo funny.
Needless to say half the raid left and started condemning the guild that was hosting the raid. I hated that guild. They were known to slow start raids and the guild leader was known for acting like a nazi in raid chat.Talkin down to the vets like they werent shit. Ah. good times.
Fuck the world, for all its worth,Every inch of planet earth!
Back in the good ole' days In SWG I was a ranger once apon a time and had the ability to sniff out any creature from a distance and track it. I also had decent rifle skills so I could take down most big prey with me BFG. So one day these young punks come stumbling my way and decided to get all "uber" "elite" "I can kill anything I touch" on me. So I challenge them to fight a bigole' krayt dragon and they says no way. Long story short I tell them there is a chance on kill to get a krayt pearl ( up till then I'd killed what seemed like dozens and never saw a pearl ) and stick it in a lightsabre to be all mega uber and they decide that might be a good idea. So's me and these two uber elite mega punk trash-talkers go track down a giant momma krayt and follow it all over the hill for a while before these 2 guys start plucking away at it little by little. I trapped it down and used all my skills and I was surprised they really were decently uber after all. Well the first guy drops and me and the last guy bang on this momma krayt for 10 more minutes before the second guy drops. I was amazed when I popped off a last shot and the giant krayt lands smack down right at my toes! They start yelling at me all kinds of this and that and how I better do what they demand and all that jazz and in the last few moments before nausia took me I look inside the giant ghastly beast and low and behold the thing drops a nice shiny glowing krayt pearl and I pick it up and skiddadle right up and out o there! lol funniest day I ever had in SWG! Moral of the story: think with your brain and not with your mouth!

In EQ I played a Dark Elf and so did a lot of my friends. One day one of my friends and I were hanging out in lower Nektulos Forest chatting about what we were going to do when a Human newbie zoned in from the East Commonlands. Now I don't know how it is now but in it's hey day Nektulos was almost pitch black even in daytime to any race without infravision. So this guy finds us and asks us if we can lead him to Lavastorm. So we agree and than switch to Dark Speech so we can talk about him without him knowing. We're commenting on his noobness all the way to the bridge in the middle of the zone where the bridge guards promptly kill him. We have a good laugh at his expense and then go back to the southern end of the zone to resume our discussion. About 5 minutes later our new friend comes back into the zone, nude from being killed and explains to us his misfortune with the guards. Then the dumb ass asks us to help him find his corpse so we politely agree and lead him to his death a second time.
Now it didn't end there... He came back 3 more times... We lead him to his death each time. Finally I guess he caught on to us as he didn't come back again. His corpses stayed on the bridge until they expired... LOL... Good times, good times.
not really evil but, my 4th level 75 job in ffxi was bard. My first was monk. Monk was one of the least invited classes because everyone leveled on crabs and wanted rangers and mages for better damgage. In earlier stages of the game monks always got shat on and invited last, or not at all. Anyways, it took like a year to hit 75 with a lot of grief, pain, and frustration. Bard took like 3 weeks- lol wtf... (most sought after class for your exp pty) turbocharge it.
SO, for payback everynight before I'd go to bed I'd leave my bard's Looking For Party flag up all night. I would wake up in the morning and read all the /tells where people were begging me to join them to level. - pages of them... LOL
payback is a bitch.
On another story, my brother is one evil bastard. He ganked his so called friend's multiple decked out accounts on Diablo after he convinced him to give him his account info so he could help him. (now why in the blue hell would you give out your shit to total strangers? He was laughing incredibly hard when he did this, I went into his room to see whats up... And I was like, "oh, boy, you are fucking crazy, and this shit is karma and will catch up to you.
Well it did catch up to him. The guild I was in in ffxi, gave him a bard (totally stripped) so he could play with us in endgame content and not have to level from scratch. 6 months pass, and he got some pretty sweet gears on that bard and quite a lot of gil, to only try to log in one day to the account that did not exist. LOL payback is a motherfucker huh? he was so pissed haha...

Not exactly MMO, but i did this in Freelancer Online on our server where we had quite a good community. For many years i was a very much liked and respected admin on that server.
We had this 10yrs old kid frequently playing on our server who was known to be retarded and on heavy medication, raised by an overburdened widowed mother who sat him infront of his PC all day since his dad died in a car accident. I guess that mom was feeling lucky for her child that it met some people to socialize with.
In Freelancer-MP, on many servers there was no PvP allowed in the newbie systems and therefore many many weapon-traders parked their ships at this supposed to be "safe" spot. Since this kid wasn't really capable to PvP, he also was a weapon trader, mostly standing around all day and chatting. I was but a weapon trader too and i couldn't tolerate competition -gaming is serious bizness!! So i paid a friend of mine a couple of times to blow up this kid's ship to lose all the weapons in stock. I also closed both eyes and never banned my friend for pvp'in in the newbie zone, "sorry, no screenshot - no ban". It was fun up to then.
One day, that kid joined us on Vent a few minutes before he got blown up another time...the moment his ship exploded we heared the most desperate scream on ventrilo a human being can possibly produce, followed by another desperate call for his mom and intense crying. That moment i knew that what we did hurt that kid very bad and even though "it's just a game", i realised that it was very wrong from a humane perspective.
*Edit
In addition:
At that time, i had no backup to restore his ship so i offered him to hand over some guns manually, helping out to rebuild his stock. I told him that all i needed was a round figure of what's missing. That tricky little prick lied to me big time and listed a great deal of very rare and expensive guns supposed to be lost, which i knew he never had before.

Have to third that. Folks, don't royally piss off your healer, especially if she hates playing one.
We don't swear in all caps. We just click a little bit too slow.
The story goes back to the glory days of UO, when Second Age had just appeared.
I started playing along with a few real life friends: none of us was a kid, we all worked and had busy lives out of UO.
This went well until we joined a guild: the guilmaster and majority of players in guild were young boys, but on the other hand they were a lot more experienced than us, du to playing a lot more.
A few times we went with the guild in places and, mainly, dungeons where we were able to no more than watch, as the opponents were by far too strong.
On a fateful evening we went in one of such dungeons, things were not going well and so the majority of our mates recalled away, leaving us noobs to die quickly losing all the few items we had on.
I was enraged, and after harsh words, we used ICQ for chatting, left the guild.
I made a new ICQ account, disguising me as a girl, and a new UO character, a girl too.
As I was expecting, nearly everyone is glad to anything for a player in a mmorpg, if he thinks he is a girl!:)
In no time I was again in my previous guild and conquered their trust along with gifts and decent and, more so, indecent approaches!
Then time for vengeance came: the guild had finally managed to purchase a new home (a castle) as the previous one was bad placed and small: due to the rules no character could own two houses, so they asked me to keep the new house while the previous one was being sold.
As soon as the house was mine, I left the guild and dropped the fake ICQ account , then went on mocking them in game and forums as being idiots and wankers!:)
They treatened me, even in RL, that was ridiculous as they never knew who I am or where I live, but managed to do nothing, after a few days the guild disbanded!

It was never mentioned in guild chat or anything but it was creepy lol.

LOL like I said I played a buffer healer for 8 years a so and wouldn't be totally honest if I didnt mention that I may have shanked a heal or two as pay back
Easy...
Stole their house keys, and then tormented about it for some time after...
Was young back then, and at this point in my MMO life, I probably wouldn't do the torment part, but i bet I would steal them again ; )
Thats why you never piss off the healer.
Playing wow on my priest i mind controlled an alliance char underwater and drowned them in booty bay .. poor guy flapped about and chocked
They were known to slow start raids and the guild leader was known for acting like a nazi in raid chat. Talkin down to the vets like they werent shit. Ah. good times.

LOL Karma is a bitch
The most evil thing that I've ever done to someone in an MMO was to group with them. I'm sure they learned a lesson that day
This sentence is false.
