Apparently that doesn't seem to be true. DDO added a free2play version of their game and though they initially thought they might lose some subs they actually added quite a bit. As a matter of fact they are making more money than they thought and it seems that they have retained most of their sub players.

Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

Guild wars seemed to work just fine... what the hell are you talking about?

I suppose the next question should be: How successful, financially, is GW compared to comparable P2P games?   Probably a question we can never get the answer to.

The franchise sold in total of about 5 million copies (orginal and the xpacs) not as much as WoW which sold that much for Wotlk alone it is higher than AoC and WAR which sold million copies each. Granted there is no monthly charge which.accounts for more than 75% of the revenue.

As for DCU big problem is their release date it is schedule for April but from what i understand it will most likely be hitting shelves around summer 2010 sandwitched right between two goliath releases. Doesn't bode well unless they have smooth release...

It's biggest problem is the gameplay trailers.

Everyone has already seen how shit it looks.

Some PS2 owning diehard Batman fans may buy this game, but they will regret it.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 looks a much better prospect for console Supers action.
