Are we using the word "fail" way too much?

I think that in more cases than not, the term failed describes the players wishes rather than the conclusion after some sort of analysis of the game. "The game dissapointed me, then it must be fail"

     Example below

    v

"nerf rock, paper is working as intended."

    - Scissors.

I would say the word " Fail " and Funcom have alot in common.

    Jihad works both ways

" Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Those Who  Would Threaten It "

I guess truly the only way that a game could fail would be if the company or companies involved somehow lost money from it. I've been starting to think the gaming companies dont really care about what we think of the games as long as they are able to get some profit and line their pockets than in their eyes they didnt fail.

    fail is an excelent word.

the cheapest way to communicate something without having to waste time and effort, even more since it reforces the notion that a certain subject is not even worth of any more words than that.

Just type "fail" and its all over, dont need to explain, dont need to apologize, doesnt matter what is said next, the whole meaning behind it gets alive and keeps going by itself. Very powerfull word, strong enough to work as killing blow to any doubtfull reader.

Common Sense + Mass Media + Usage and Notion of the word "fail" = EFFECT

    Why does it bother you?

Following this line of reasoning, I wonder how long it will be before we devolve to the point of simply making a series of grunts and gestures to eachother in place of verbal and written communication.

The word "fail" is rarely used in a grammatically correct fashion or proper context anymore.

"Fail" is not a quality of something; it is an action.  Things cannot "be" fail.

Failure implies an intended objective that was not met.  It is not a way of describing something that you find disagreeable or foolish.

MMOs do not "fail".  If a subscription MMO company had a goal, it would be to turn a profit.  Every MMO is discontinued before it gets to the point where it can no longer generate profits.  Therefore the objective is met, regardless.  Rather than "fail" or "succeed", there are varying degrees of success MMOs can achieve.  They can be more relatively more successful and profitable, or relatively less.

If you intend to communicate using the English language, please attempt to do so properly.  Thank you.
