FPS problems

I'm playing on a laptop, with an ATI 2600 HD......not a powerhouse, to be sure. The thing is, I've heard of people with monster PCs having problems with FPS as well.

What bothers me is that I really like this game (even on lowest settings, with awful frame-rate), but the Aion open-beta is running like butter...almost better than WoW. I haven't seen other threads complaining about frame-rate, so I ask: is it just a small minority that are experiencing these problems?

If you've had bad FPS, and were somehow able to fix it, please tell me your solutions. I can't really afford to play two MMOs, and right now, Aion wins simply for technical reasons.

If you check the official forums "Pc and Technical Issues" youll find this is a widespread problem. Unfortunately the game runs like crap for a lot of people.

The UI seems to be a problem, Devs have commented its taking up too much miliseconds and needs to be tweeked.. If you hit  Alt F12 in game and hide the UI youll probably see your FPS rise. When i do this it rises almost 50%. In game you can minimize the chat window and the quest tracker which i find helps. Then i cant read in game chat   To see your FPS in game type  /showfps 1. 

Im playing Aion also and can hit 100+  FPS in places, i wish i got that in CO.
