First Impression
Well, after a very diffiuclt time even being able to log into the open beta it didn't take me long to gain a first impression of this game. In my opinion Aion is Guild Wars meets WOW plus wings. I hope it does well for the people who enjoy it but it's just not for me.

i got in the game in no time at all and had no issues. sorry u have a fucked up comp and ur judging the game so fast :P.

lol, my comp was not the issue. Once I was able to get past the Game Guard crap (btw, a game shouldn't require that much work on behalf of the player to just be able log on) it ran just fine on highest settings. However, you may have a point on the quick judgement but you only get one chance to make a first impression and Aion just missed the target for me.
Enjoy your game, I'll just have to keep waiting.

I felt the same way when I first played WoW back in 2004: I ran around the starting area (the snowy area near Kharanos) for a few minutes, did a couple quests, and said "WTH, is this all there is? Must be, I've played the game long enough to know it all. Time to uninstall.". So I know how you feel. Best of luck!
They can adjust a game all day, but they can't help the issue between the keyboard and the chair.

This game looks awesome with 3D Vision. But from my opinion there are not enough Classes and Races. I wonder if it can compete with LOTR in the end.
I dont even believe this "impression" as you have to actually hit 9/10 to get wings and by 9/10 the entire Guildwars feeling would be non existant... and WoW... any MMO feels like WoW because they are fake worlds with quest NPC's that say retieve my goblet of obscene pig blood and they talk in funny voices ... imagine that... they are similar ... yet oh so different.

My first impressions of the game was a beautiful gaming world, a rich storyline, easy to grasp game mechanics (my gf who is a button masher was able to get the concept of the chained skills very quickly). I like the fact there are only two races honestly as it ties into the storyline. I think perhaps an additional subclass for each of the starter classes would have been good, but it isnt that big of a deal. It is a fun game. Yes, I am a NCSoft fan boy, but I have been looking for a good fantasy title since DAOC. I found it with Aion.
Maybe I should have elaborated a little.
I in no way said that Aion was a BAD game. I just said it wasn't for me.
Like Guild Wars = Charater Graphics
Like WOW = mix between WOW and Guild Wars landscapes
The new thing it brings to the table = Wings
Now, that being said. I know that you can't have AOC type graphics and support any significant PvP. Hell my favorite game of all time did not have top notch graphics either (DAOC). I was just simply stating an opinion. I'm not attacking your game so don't get your panites in a wad.
I'm glad you found something you like if this is your game. I don't care for it. It doesn't make me right and you wrong, it's just how it is. You like it and I don't.
I will just wait for Global Agenda to come out. The combo of FPS/RPG might be fun and something I've never tried.
