I'm enjoying AOC. Powerleveling guildies with my pom every day while pvping 24/7. Just the pvp action alone with friends will keep you playing. It's a great game with good graphics and I'm still enjoying it after 2 months of coming back from a long break. It has realistic graphics that look good and fun gameplay.
It was the PvP mechanics that kept me playing too, and I still thinks about resubbing every now and then due to the PvP and how it worked. But first I have to get my PC fixed, then I would have to get some spare time. Started with paintball and buying a xbox360 have kind of taken some of the spare time I had for MMO's :P
Common theme. The game is around 50/50 participants whose premise is PvP/PvE. The PvP mechanics are fun and this is why there are a large portion of players who play just for the PvP.
If they (roughly) 50% of players weren't happy they would be gone a long time ago when more PvP marketed games came out (WAR/DF/PotBS) Those that posted in these forums at that time (and I remember distinctly having several long conversations with them) now don't play those games either. Maybe this is something in general.
I think AoC has more staying power now than those games, and more potential in everything mmorpg.
I like where the game is going and the development is focused so, yes, I am happy with the game in this area and from enjoying both PvP and PvE.
You can't just make up numbers, used to the PvPers were the overwhelming majority and now they are the minority. Aion looks good, but most players left so the remaining players can not be labeled as PvE or PvP, they in general are "Casual" as most are not at level cap.

You point out someone for making up numbers, then procede to make up your own.
You have no way of actually knowing that pvpers were a majority and are now a minority, your assuming that based how you felt during the winback.

My numbers are from the devs themselves. FYI even back just after launch when things were collated there was still a 50/50 preference.
The head Developer stated PvP players were a majority after launch, so the 50/50split is way off back then, Gaute did say there was a 50/50 between USA and Europe players. Look people came to AoC to PvP the developers hyped it and lied to almost a million people, when people found out AoC's PvP was gutter among other things they left en mass. It is sad how bad the PvP situation is today, they only had a year to fix sieges and other broken systems.
Today there are 2 populated PvP servers and 4 PvE servers, I don't know the split but it looks like 2 PvErs for Each PvPer, no one knows what it is but that is the best guess because Tyranny is maybe half full so are the ONLY 4 populated PvE servers borderline empty?
The 50/50 today is made up and can not be sourced unless AA gets private conversations with developers. We also know the developers Lie and make up stuff to apease fans, such as saying "the server populations are fine". which the players know is false. You would think this company would learn to tell the truth, oh well it already cost them 34 million and that number should grow when people boycott the expansion and TSW, why would they avoid it? because Funcom misrepresented AoC. So once again I have no idea why Funcom has such issues telling the truth.

See the problem with your entire argument here, is that you dont play and have no way of actually knowing the current populations, other than your assumptions and predetermined state of the game.
And once again, your here pretending your a player, or someone with inside information on the game, giving out made up information like tyranny is half full, how the hell do you know any of this?
When they say the servers are fine, well some servers are low pop, but there is 2 populated pvp servers and 2 populated pve servers, meaning they are not too crowded, yet have active players in all areas. I have personally found this to be true on one pve and one pvp server. Walking into any of the other populated servers, you can see in global there is activity, people are doing minis (at various levels) people are looking for raids, looking for dungeons, guilds are advertising....all things that dont happen on a dead server.
Just because you dont agree with the information actually given to us doesnt make it a lie. I think people are more inclined to believe people who play and the developers over some guy who doesnt play, or have intentions to play, and has been trolling the aoc forum for how long now?
Get a life, trolling the aoc forums on a 3rd party site for as long as you have is pretty sad.

Apparent populations are in decline. What more do you want to know?
Average time played per player will go down, just like it did last September, because kids are going back to school, college kids are going back to school, and parents have to run the kids to extra curriculars. AOC populations feel substantially faster last year but a good 15-25% of the population decline was based on the fact folks have more to do when school is in session.
Apparent populations are what matters to folks in the game, and clearly if anybody wants to they can bring Xfire into the argument with factual stats showing the trend.
Point is AOC winback totally failed to bring in customers sufficient even to cover the losses of those who left after having been rebuffed on vet rewards and who quit cause of the BS bugs in 1.05, and 3 second sieges where the defender lost their keep without a fight, and AOC dev team did nothing to restore them their keep, this the same company that gave another guild on a server which doesn't exist anymore, a free fucking T3 keep.

Lolz this thread fails. Of course those 100k that stayed are happy because they are paying for it What about those million players who quit Age of Conan after one a month. Are they happy?
lol i could not care less about at least half of those mill. as they where but whiners imo, some constructive points have been post but i can not say that is the majority, mostly minor issues are mentioned as fences or instancing (mmo dish of tha day) other may mention after a year playing that lacking content.

This post is funny, you show yourself to be just what you complain about. I doubt half of the 800k people who quit aoc after relase made a post denouncing it yet you say atleast half of them are whiners, why because they didn't happen to like your game? Please stop whining about whiners.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
What's even more funny is whiners that whine about other whiners that whine about other whiners that whine about whiners... Oh no, now I just... ok you prolly get my point...
I quit this game about 2 weeks after its release. After you get out of the starter area it just becomes the most boring grind you've ever imagined. But honestly I really did enjoy the game at the start, I enjoyed going to my first PvP island and the fun that entailed from that. I really enjoyed the lore and the way the game draws you to it. But after I finished that starter area it was like I woke up to the annoying sound of my mother waking me up in the morning whilst I was having a dream about a chick I like. I'd really like to get back into AoC but I've been keeping tabs on the game and so far it's not improved, there is still little content added and the game is still buggy as hell.
I've been playing AoC for about 8 months now with 2 characters 77 ranger and 55 HoX on the Agony (PVP) server. When I first started playing the server population was definitely higher than it is today. Alot of ppl are leaving and going to other games or more populated servers. If this trend keeps up, i believe the game will eventually die, but hopefully with the new expansion coming out ppl will come back. I can only hope. The game itself ,to me is good, but once you get in the higher lvls you need groups to continue your progress, unfortunately that is where lack of ppl hurts the most.
More than likely, I will be looking at other games in the near future.

I agree with your what you said and it is strange that you are the target market for AoC. Players that will spend forever leveling up while paying Funcom for months of service. It is sad as the expansion is so far away and the population will continue to decline but in a few months you should have two level 80s and would you reroll knowing that the leveling process is quite linear? That has been a major issue at level 80s players reroll or quit and you stated you are already looking for other games.
That is a good question. I'm used to grinding lvls mainly because I played FFXI online for 4yrs. AoC was going to be my next long term game, but the drastic drop of ppl on the server and in the guild, lost my interest a bit. Soloing is fun to a point, but I like the mixture of grouping together with friends once in awhile. When you do get the chance to group up, might as well enjoy it, because it will probably be the last one for another 2weeks. I could go to a populated server, but if I do that, to me it would be starting all over again trying to find a guild that I like and see how mature and active they are in the game. MIght as well go to a diffrent game and be a newbie.
The game lvling being linear will "irk" me a bit, but I kindof figured AoC might do that because of the amount of subscribers, so I was expecting that to happen. More than likely I will probably stay until the new expansion comes out to see if things improve, but I'm not sure if my patience will last that long.
I found the game great graphically and fun to play especially pvp. However i shortly left after 3 months when almost all the things promised on the box were not delivered. Also using open beta to only showcase the first starting and not past it was really under handed and a cheap shot because soon as you were out of there the game went to crap content wise.
To much dishonesty and let dows by the company ruined it for me. In a more reputable companies hands i may have been playing still.
Almost by definition the people that are currently paying to play the game are going to be to some degree happy with it. A more accurate picture of the quality of the game would have to refelct the vast majority of people who've tried it and weren't happy with it.
By definition those living in the US should to some degree be happy with the country.
A more accurate picture of the US would be supplied by the ones that are disgruntled with the country.
Logic's a female hound
It's a bit more difficult to move thousands of miles, learn a new language and secure a living in a different country than it is to stop paying $15 a month for a game if you don't like it.

Many people pay 50-60 bucks for a single player game that last them one day...

Lol finatic stop making a fool of yourself - what about pvp rp servers? those are the second pvp servers u are looking for
It's worth 3 bucks just for the BEWBZ!

By definition those living in the US should to some degree be happy with the country.
A more accurate picture of the US would be supplied by the ones that are disgruntled with the country.

It's a bit more difficult to move thousands of miles, learn a new language and secure a living in a different country than it is to stop paying $15 a month for a game if you don't like it.
