Title pretty much say's it all.
I got the game and downloaded the high qualty verson but it kept giving me this error message that some thing was not working properly I could not get a solition to this problem was dissapointed because I wanted to try this game out.
Now I go andd do a uninstall and it will not uninstall says program is running in another application to shut it down, well i manualy delete some files and this seems to work till I get to the turbine file folder and get this permission garbage I goto to everything trying to switch permissions to delete this game and turbine file ( I rember I had a simular issue the last time with turbine.) I do the E-mail for help none comes and of course nothing on the site for deleting.
I had to format my hard drive to get rid of it....
After a half a day of reinstalling just about everything and hours of updates to down load to say I was pissed would be a understatement I will never get another turbine product as long as I live.
If any of you have run into the problem of getting rid of a turbine game and know what I am talking about with the permission please post here the solution around it so someone else does not have to go throught what I did thank you.

I have a few questions about the problem:
1) Did you restart the computer between trying to run the game and initially trying to uninstall it?
2) Did you manually kill the game and launcher processes (ctrl alt delete, task manager) before trying to remove it?
3) Did you have anything DDO-related set to automatically start at boot-up or running in the task bar? If so, did you disable this before trying to uninstall?
4) What version of Windows, and what antivirus/antispyware software were you running?
Playing this game, loving it.

I'm willing to bet you didn't stop the DDO background downloader. Which would throw a permissions error if you tried to manually delete the files. Just for giggles I just uninstalled DDO with no problems took longer for add and remove programs to populate than the actual uninstall process which went through just fine. I'm not seeing the point of this thread, your computer was most likely jacked in the first place if you got a failed install. Doing a quick google search didn't find any glaring trend pointing out shoddy coding, just a single issue with vista.
I would most likely have to agree with the sentiments in the quote above. The chances that there actually was a major problem .... very minimal. You should have posted here before you reformatted anything and we could've probably helped you through some troubleshooting.
Hehe. He likely tried to uninstall the game while the downloader was still installing it in background.
Man...computers should be off limits for some people
