Aion: Selecting an EU server

XasapisXasapis Member RarePosts: 6,337

I suppose that I could just pick a random one and join once the game launched. I'm just wondering if there are a bit more information out there that could make such a selection less random. Like an MMORPG.com server, or an unofficial RP server etc. Are you people aware of such unofficial distinctions between the servers?

I'm also not aware of servers that promote a specific language, ie a mainly English speaking one etc.

I believe somebody in the UK posted the list from the eu.aiononline.com page that had German, French, and English servers (3 or 4 of each).

You're right. You gave me the incentive to dig a bit on the server list organised by language and found this:

    eu.aiononline.com/uk/news/list-of-aion-servers-at-launch.html

    [ENG] Spatalos

    [ENG] Telemachus

    [ENG] Castor

    [ENG] Perento

    [ENG] Gorgos

    [GER] Kromede

    [GER] Thor

    [GER] Votan

    [GER] Balder

    [FRA] Urtem

    [FRA] Vidar

    [FRA] Suthran

Apart from those official distinctions (guess I'll pick an English speaking one), are there any unofficial ones?

Well, I'm glad that they start low as opposed to start with tons of servers and repeat the WAR phenomenon. But I don't care about the number of the servers, I just want to pick one. The question is which one.

Edit: If nothing else works I might just pick a Greek sounding server. Telemachus & Castor are ancient Greek names. Spatalos means squanderer. Gorgos means fast. Rest don't make sense. Still, that's not a good reason to pick a server, hehe.

And it seems they want the roleplayers to unofficialy pick one and make it theirs.
