    I LOL'd at this.

If you play like most of us do, 8-12 hours a day?

    Really?

Most people spend 8-12 hours a day playing an mmo?

That's either a gross exaggeration, or if it's true, a terrible statement about what most people are doing with half of their life.

I haven't played a MMO 8+ hours in one sitting in over nine years let alone actually averaging that much playtime weekly.

This guy is either a kid or a college student with no life.

I feel bad for anyone that spends that much time in front of a glowing screen playing a game.

there is no way in hell you can spend 8-12 hours a day playing ANY MMO.  You spend 15-18 hours a day looking at the AION forums.

Haha!!! I'm a work A holic and happen to have forum access during my 10-12 hour work days.

And no I keep the Recent post page up since it updates every ten seconds and randomly respond to topics to break up my crazy  work grind lol.

Thank you for noticing my post habbits though. im irritating someone, that's a good thing.

About the refund, you can always go to your bank and ask for the preorder payment to be revoked. Even if you can't do that, it's just 10 euros lost. (i'm in the same situation, only not too sure about cancelling yet).

Is it ?  300k is low ?  This obviously doesnt even include the sales of the game boxes from stores during the first few weeks of release.  Try thinking next time before you post.  I am sure I am not alone in that I will be buying the game 9/22.  Also if it does well and generates enough buzz and gets some good reviews it will add more players then it loses.  300k is a good solid start -- if you cant see that, then I cant help you.

this is AION.  It is not WAR and it is not AoC.  Neither of those games were ready to launch when they did and many, many of the WAR beta testers said as such.   Be sure to come back in a few months when the game is well over 500k.

Yeah, uh, to add to that... AoC nor WAR were even a 1/5th as polished as Aion is... that alone should say enough about why their subs left after a week...

What killed AOC and War was not their lack of polish,  bugs,  piss poor launch>  What killed them was mid level and high level content.  Or More lack there off.  The Warhammer launch was extremely smooth ( For the US at least) and it still sht the bed later down the road.

I am not saying Aion will do the same.  I am saying that Aion is not in the clear yet. 3 or 4 months after launch we will get a taste of its future.   Maybe 9 months we will get a full view of its future.

Also on a side note.  Most of the people complaining about this games polish compared to other MMOs know this is the 3rd and 4th launch of this game right?

Hardly an unbiased outlook (Nice numbers= $$). I wouldn't expect less than 300k, based on the hype factor, and the fact that the MMO market is not even close to saturation, and releases of games seem to be spread out. The speaker is right on about the "solid audience" though.

    Commenting to the green:

Actually there is, when you get paid to do it... aka pro-gamers. Popular sponsored Guilds or Clans w/e you want to call them, get paid to play for 12 hrs a day. I know that before Nihilium merged with SK to form Ensindia their average gametime was, (and still is with the new merger), roughly 10-12 hrs of gameplay, (yes thats every day).

AOC is on my personal all-time list (1992-present), probably top 3, of Launch failure and all around flop. Never tried WAR.

Problem w/ that assessment. Professional MMO gaming is not sustainable (in terms of prize money, etc.). In order to be sustainable professional gamers usually have to be good at more than 1 game at any given time. Either way that's time taken away from grinding 1 MMO all day.

Yeah, a game basically that gave you terminator jesus to play as and couldn't follow up. It delievered to us Sex, Explosions,  Bloody violence, and Beer.... but it couldn't supply enough of it.

I already have a copy of Aion coming to my house since my wife buys every damn New mmo for me. So yes I will try Aion. I don't hate Aion dude. I've said over and over that it's a good game. The fanbois seem to hate my posts since I like to remind them it's nothing special.

It falls inline with other themepark games like WoW, Lotro and EQ2. Good but its not gods gift to the genre.

Me too, I ordered online for quicker delivery. And, I don't hate Aion as well, I'm just trying to let everyone know that Aion is over hyped, it offers nothing next-gen, however, I will be buying it and playing it for the next 6 years.
