Communities and countries without an official server are organizing to chose an unoficial server to play all together. I know the spanish community is most probably going to Castor, so that's the server to go if you are spanish-speaking (or to avoid if you hate those discussions about what language should be used in general chat and so on).
Anyone know where other communities will be heading? We could make a list here.
Now this is almost official:

Romania ---> Telemachus
Even though its an english server anyway Spatalos is the unnofficial server for UK players
Just wondering where you got the info from? Can't seem to find much about them. My guild is planning to roll on Telemachus, but if Spatulos is going to be the UK one that might be a better choice.
Bleh, it is pretty dumb to confine people to certain servers by the devs, now people want to confine themselves?
I always loved to meet people from various places in the world, that was and still is one of the appeals of mmorpg's for me, altho it is getting harder nowadays to find mmo's that are not restricted and confined.

Ive read about half a dozen of these threads on various forums and they always say something different apart from maybe the RP server. I read some Russian guild are going Spatalos especially.

Updated. Thank you guys for the input.
The division by countries of the servers is one of the most dumb things ever introduced to online gaming. Online gaming is fun because it joins people all over the world under the same flag wich is to play a game interacting with each other.
Noeone cares if you Spannish, or whatever, there are 3 main languages in Europe, acording to the numbers of paying costumers. Simple as that.
- ENGLISH -
- FRENCH -
- GERMAN -
All the other languages will be residual in the game.
We are gathering like minded guilds on the same server in here www.aionsource.com/forum/legion-discussions/49159-initiative-unofficial-european-heavy-pvp-server.html
Yes but there are alot of people capable of speaking English but insist in speaking their native language instead on a English speaking realm
What can I say? Has any of you geniuses considered that perhaps not everyone that is going to play Aion after release reads this forum (or even the Aion source forum for that matter) and that all they will see are the french, the english and the german servers and make their choice accordingly?
p.s. I would, however, love to know where the people go that play to ruin my day because I'd like them to be as far away from me as possible (preferably in an other universe)

And you think "unofficial servers" will solve this?

Its better than nothing no?

No!
Let me elaborate: What the hell are you going to do when someone rolls a char on the unofficial spanish server and asks a question in english? Tell him/her to speak spanish or leave as this is the unofficial spanish server?
As I said in a previous post officially there are the french, the english and the german severs and the people who don't read forums will simply choice from those three options meaning that the "unofficial romanian community will still have to put up with the "english please!" comments on their "unofficial romanian server" since officially it's just one of the english servers.
Are you lot really that arrogant that you believe you can make decisions for an entire community?
Its a discussion forum, people are discussing it and spreading some information. At no time did i read anyone claiming to represent any community.

Spanish: Castor
Romanian: Telemachus
Russian: Castor? Telemachus?
UK: Spatalos
Roleplaying: Gorgos
Unassigned: Perento
You were saying?
I dont know why your getting so worked up over this. I played on Castor during OB and it was a splt chat between French/English with half the people not knowing what the other lot were saying in general chat.
Id rather avoid that if its ok with you ?
Err dont Russians have a different distrubtor/server host ,soo they wont be on EU afaik.
Lets see.. the purpose of this thread is not to gather people of those communities in one or another server. It's just to know where those communities are deciding to go, so 1) If you belong to one of those communities you will know where to find fellow people 2) If you for any reason don't like a community you can avoid that server. Less conflicts. All happy.
Denmark seems to have picked Spatalos as the un-official danish server like with Spain.
if ppl only want to play with players from their own country then so be it, i always loved to play on servers with ppl from all over the world, from malaysia to canada/US
MMOs currently playing: -
About to play: Lord of the Rings Online
Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)
That means all "that" comunity will speak spanish on General chat?? insted of english?
This is crazy.......Im out of Castor then....
Gorgos unofficial RP and unofficial dutch
I remember years ago when WoW came out I found myself on an unofficial Spanish server.
I have nothing against Spanish but eventually found the place impossible because most of the guilds and PuGs were Spanish. Basically there were a number of Spanish guilds who were trying to make the server Spanish only and made things difficult.
As time went by the server became increasingly polarised and I was in my mid forties when I was pretty much forced to roll again on another server if I wanted to enjoy the game.
As a result I think this whole unofficial National Server is a real pain in the arse. Not everyone will read about it and some players will have to endure the same annoyance as I did when I first started WoW. The solution is for NCSoft to indicate which servers are which and NOT for players to decide for themselves. It is a very selfish solution which I'm sure will annoy at least as many people as it helps.
