Umm I just called game stop and...
They said my preorder wont come on to 21st and not the 20th!!!! Is this some bad joke? <.< I don't want to be a day late!!!

Im sorry to hear that...but.....those days are over. Nowdays its a lot better to buy your game digitally. You pay for the serial and then you create an account and download the client. This way there is no risk to miss preorder/early access.
But sure I agree, its bad that they cant deliver your product in time. But try my tips next time. If u really want the box u can buy that later.

I bought mine from GS also. I'm gonna stop by there today and see if I share the same fate as you.
But I think they give us a 24 hour grace period for anyone that pre ordered the CE. Meaning that our beta key will work but we must enter our new code within 24 hours after launch.

I would start your download TODAY! The download process from NcSoft is incredibly slow, so start it now to be ready (possibly) for the 18th and pre-selection. You probably won't get it downloaded from NcSoft until the 19th.
You can pre-order from Steam, but it says their game will not unlock until the 22nd, so I don't see any point in giving them money early.
Oh, and thanks, when I went to the NcSoft site I saw that I can upgrade my game to the collector's edition for $10!

If u gonna download the client, dont use the link u get at the accountpage. I tried it, didnt even get it to start. My tips is to get it from fileplanet with the download manager. I have a 24 mbit line and Im downloading the 9 gig file with a speed of 800 kb/s.

I know I'm also a preorder. The headstart works with the preorder beta key. So you'll get a head start till the 22nd. Unless theres something I'm not getting.
Well, the headstart is part of the pre-order package. So if you got the card that allowed you to play the closed and open betas then you are golden. Also, there should be a grace period, as most MMOs do, that allow those that pre-ordered to continue playing for a day or two after release which gives them time to pick up the game and enter the key. Unsure if Aion is doing this or not.
If you looked on Gamestop's site you would see a shipping date for the box CE set being shipped on 9/21/09.
Besides the headstart only allows you to make your character and name it, not play it.
You can download now, for free, without purchase. All you need for the 18th and the 20th is the pre-order code (emailed if you ordered online) handed to you when you order at a local store. You do not need the game box until the 22nd comes, at which time you will be required to enter the code that comes with the physical box. Considering they are releasing the boxes the 21st, this shouldn't be an issue for anyone.

You are incorrect. The headstart allows play on the 20th starting at 12:00pm PDT. You are thinking of the preselect which allows reserving 2 names on a specific server, this takes place starting at 12:00pm PDT on the 18th. However downloading the game is free and open to everyone. Simply go to na.aiononline.com/en/about/download/ and pick the best option for you.
Edit: As I posted above, once you download the game, all you need to access the headstart/preselect features of pre-order are your pre-order code, either handed to you at the store or emailed if you ordered through an online retailer. You will not need the code included in the physical box until the 22nd.

Yes i do. 10 bucks will not even buy a month of game play or cups of anything in a Starbucs. (well maybe) . You get items for all your toons and the lvl 30 wings alone will set you back a good 800k PER toon ........ So yes that $ 10.00 is sure worth it.
On a side note the box does not come out til the 21st / 22nd . If you have the pre order you can log on to your account whith NC and check. You can make your toon and chose a server only 2 tho on the 18th. You can play your toons on Sunday the 20th. Once the box comes out you will have X days to enter the code with the box to keep your account. It works like this with almost all preorders these days

Actually the headstart allows you to play. On the 18th starting at noon you can log in as far as the character creation and create two characters. On the 20th at noon you can login and start playing. On the 22nd is launch. Times are PDT and both are listed on the aion official website.

Check your account. If you entered the preorder key, your account should say "Preorder" as the status. That allows you into the Preselection on the 18th and the headstart on the 20th.

I believe you can play on the pre-order key for a few days past the actual launch, this will allow for a few days travel for the actual copy to show up. If NCsoft does not allow this they can expect a lot of hate directed at them for the first few days.

Do you guys know if the preselection the 18th works for Europlayers aswell? Cause if I got it right EU-players will have access to the game some days after NA.

Yep, this is simply to do with the day of the week stores sell new releases. In the US its the 22nd, in EU its the 25th.
