Server Questions

BattagBattag Member Posts: 94

Hey everyone I don't play to many MMORPG and Aion might be my first MMO that I actually try to fully enjoy.  I was wondering what servers would be best for someone living in Toronto Canada and if so which servers do you guys think would be most populated?  Thanks :D

What's timezone? Go to aionsource.com they have  or aiononline.com and look up the hourly timezone. All servers are on the East so don't worry about that. You might be best on an Oceanic but that's just a guess I'm not too sure.

Hey Battag. You'll likely play on the NA servers. They are located in the US, and I'm not even certain if they are physically located in more than one place.

They are divided into East and West coast timezones (US DST). So, most of the time, your local time will coincide with US East Coast time. There are also Oceanic servers, but I wouldn't advise you play on those if you're in Toronto. The only real difference besides the potential location of the boxes is the clock in game.

I think your best bet will be to choose an "East" server from the list.

There are rumors that Lumiel will get most of the hardcore roleplayers, but not much else.

Otherwise, unless you have friends who are playing, there's no "right" server to pick for your location. Some are going to be more full than others on launch, but they all have huge playerbases already. I think Siel was the first server to fill up last night.

That's the best I can do for you.

In-game clock is set per server so I would pick a east coast server (events will be set at east coast time for those servers).

I was wondering - has anybody said anything about an unofficial Canadian French server? I have seen nothing (surprised).

I forget; are you all doing the crazy DST rearranging, or are you leaving that insanity to those of us south of the border?

I'm in Toronto. Any US server should be fine, but the East Coast ones will be in the correct timezone for primetime.

Most populated? Lumiel did fill up fast yesterday during the character pre-select. It's the unofficial RP server. That means the RPers will head there, and other players who try to avoid the l337-speakers.

I just saw a post on the Aion main page regarding something about various languages on various servers.  I didn't really read through it much, but perhaps that can give you a bit of info.  If not, I'm just full of fail.

Either I missed the joke in there, or you are a great advertisement for our American education system.

... pain. I was hoping no Canadians would read that after I did.

I did correct him in the next post. Does that count? Agh.

Those would be on EU servers:  www.aionsource.com/forum/european-server-forums/

Note the ENG, GER, and FRA beside each server.
