To tide over until FFXIV
Well I am 100% for sure going to be playing FFXIV when it comes out. But I am looking for a game to tide me over the the next 6 months of so.
What I don't want:
-I don't want to be grinding for the next 6 months.
-I don't want a small community
-I don't want only 3 classes to beable to be chosen
What I want:
-I possibly want one of the more mainstream F2P's as they can usually keep your attention for awhile.
-I want a F2P, I don't want to get involved in a P2P game to tide me over until another P2P game.
-I want alot of unique choices, not all cookie cutter everything.
Games I have played and not playing again:
-Runes of Magic
-Cabal Online
-Atlantica
(Erm alot more but memory sucks right now)

DDO is pretty much the only F2P MMO worth playing in my opinion. If you like grouping and hate grinding then its a good game for you.
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
ya I am actually looking at DDO right now, from what I've heard though its hard to progress later in game without VIP which is disappointing so idk x.x going to try it for a bit longer.

You can progress but i would seriously recommend going VIP, but ye you pretty much listed all the good f2p games maybe check out requiem, rohan, perfect world and spellborn.
Played reqiuem but honestly the game was ruined after they added that new caster class, way overpowered.
Played perfect world breifly before never really caught onto it.
Spellborn was taken down (servers closed)
Never played Rohan but never really heard great things about it.
Going to give it a shot later today, maybe the grind won't be as bad as I heard from rumors.

Actually no the servers aren't shut down for spellborn, the game was put into redevelopment and plan to be released again in 2010 but until then you can play the entire game for free but there would be no updates or support i guess.
Ah didn't know about that, kinda looked away after I heard they were shutting down the servers.
So may be worth looking at I guess if the servers are up. I knew it was a good game just not the kind that I would want to pay for.
Going to download that tonight then.
