Indie Game Dev "Robot<3Kitty" has unveiled its first creation, Neverdaunt:8Bit (N8). N8 is a massively multiplayer online sandbox game, stylized in a 3D version of 8bit era graphics. The world of N8 is composed entirely of blocks. Players compete for control over sections of space and are then free to build as they wish. Players can also use a growing selection of power-ups and items to play and make up their own games.

Currently all coding, artwork and sound effects for Neverdaunt:8Bit have been created by "Robot<3Kitty" founder Calvin Goble. From the time the beta quietly started in July, Calvin has continued to add functionality and gameplay such as Arcade Cabinets that dispense power-ups, and Bomb Vending machines. With this announcement "Robot<3Kitty" hopes to gather more beta players, work out remaining bugs and add new content.

"Robot<3Kitty" plans to make the game free to play with an online store to buy items and new blocks to build with. You can check out the beta trailer and signup to play at http://8bit.neverdaunt.com

Some info about the game from browsing site/forums:
The only developer/staff member is known as 'Aion' on forums and site.
He[Aion] seems to be a good listener and is constantly looking for suggestions, such as new items and powerups, putting most good suggestions in.
This seems to be a little to no budget game.
The client is 3.8MB large, with a similar sized update once installed.
Everyone can sign up and play. This does appear to be a fully interactive world with other players and objects.
The playerbase is incredibly small, which is expected for a game like this with a new developer.
Looks like a good bit of fun if you want to screw around with random people, and possibly friends, every once in a while.
There will, later on, most likely be some sort of cash shop where you can buy unique blocks to create new, cool stuff.
This doesn't really seem like any sort of RPG, at least at the moment. Mainly you create stuff and interact with other people and the environment.

Here is a big FAQ on the game:
