Question on Skinning/Leatherworking.....

What would a typical skinning yield from one downed enemy?  It seems that the Leatherworking recipes do not involve much in the form of ingrediants, so Im curious...

hehe. The ingredients become very involved as you progress in leather crafting.

For example, not too far along in your craft of leather making, you'll need Elixer Potions, Charms, varying leather types, Spider Silks, etc. to make very valuable armor pieces at varying levels. :)

As with any craft, you will need to rely on other players abilities and crafts to make great items. But the making of those items are worth it from a characters survivability, performance, and economics stand-point. You'll make a nice sum at the auction house selling to other players.

some of the recipes may not seem very involved but some of the leathers will be hard to come by i suspect. and you will likely have to trade or buy some of the components (threads) in order to make some of the nicer peices. i think skinning/leatherworking is going to be how i go once retail finally hits because i think it will be something fun and might actually prove to be useful

Unless it has change from when I played in stress test you recieved one piece from a kill. What type you recieved would depend on your skinning lvl and the lvl of the animal. And looks like other people answered the last part of you question.
