I don't know... maybe on the lowest graphics setting. If you have $80, I'd recommend getting a new graphics card. Then when you get the chance, another 512 of memory.
Here's the bare minimum requirements:
-Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP -Processor: 1GHz or greater -RAM: 512 MB -Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible. Pixel shader and vertex shader compatible hardware with 64 MB of texture memory -Sound Card: DirectSound compatible audio hardware
Personally I'd double your RAM before I did anything else. If you already had a gig, I'd say upgrade your graphics card too.
What is your processor?
EDIT: Forgot to add my reasons for upgrading ram first. My friend had the same stats computer as one of mine, except mine has a gig of RAM and his only had 512MB. Mine ran so much better with less stuttering and such. Still had to turn down options, but even then, it stuttered where the 1 gig machine didn't.
Normaly, I'd say get more ram first, but I had the graphics card he has, and that's the lowest common demonator between the ram and graphics. Personaly, I'd get the card first. If he has 1 gig of ram with that card, there's not going to be very much improvement, if at all.
True. I was thinking more along the lines of an improvement for all aspects of the computer, I guess. Then again, the game is playable on 512mb, but you are right that graphics card will suck even with a gig.
Aye, Geforce 4 Mx series don't support pixel shading, and it won't let you play the game. That's what happened to me, and I had to buy new vid card to even play in beta. I still have 512 RAM too, but looking to upgrade that next.
1. is there going to be an open beta period? i'd like to try it out before i buy it...don't want to make the same mistake as i did with lineage2...buying it and playing it for one day and quit...
2. i'm planning to get a new video card...i'm thinking of the radeon 9800pro 128mb
2a. should i fork out a few extra dollars to get the 256mb version? (cause to my knowledge, 256mb...the ram is slower htan 128mb, and also there isn't much games that actually uses anything over the 128mb mark) correct me if i'm wrong
3. radeon 9800 or the nvidia 6800? which is a better card?
