Small world after all..

I think it would be interesting to link the two worlds of XI and XIV. Maybe through an Xi expansion using airships or ships. Two different styles of play at the same time. It would be a sight.

I think its not a bad idea.....BUT only if they will rework all the graphics of FF11 to FF14 standard.

If not i dont see any need of it lol

All of your ideas about FF14 could have been made into one thread. Please stop spamming the forum. I'd liek to see the moderator take all your threads and ask you what the title should be for the one he is going to make them all into.

I I have agreed with most of CDCostas views in response to these ideas. I think FF11 players should get a really cool long term bonus for playing FF11 though, just because... maybe something cool but kind of useless. Like a moghouse furniture or plant with great storage capacity.

But yah, one thread per day even would be an improvement.

    Draco,

I don't really like your ideas for merging the two games... but I certainly like your enthusiasm!

These guys are right that you could have posted this all in one thread but I see you are brand new to the site (just joined today) and probably didn't know better.

Welcome! And hopefully you won't take the constructive criticism given to you as anything too negative.

You guys are being mean and are out of line. You think just perhaps he thought of these ideas on different occasions, therefore could not have possibly put them into one thread?I mean geesh "not to sound mean here" but use some thought before flaming some one.

The thought of merger was actually looked long and hard at by Square, but in the end the two games will be so different ,i do not think they will ever merge them. The weird part though ,is that the Square CEO said they are looking into it,so it must be possible,i guess,or he was just giving the press what they wanted to hear IDK.

Hmm, I can't say I would be for a merging of the two games. Just like I posted in the gil transfer thread, I just want a clean and fresh start. .

By the way, I kind of like it when people post a lot of threads, it gives me something to do and these boards could use all the activity they could get since I enjoy these forums a lot more than most other boards.

    Cheers for enthusiasm.

Wow I didn't know mmorpg.com had so many self-proclaimed moderators these days. At least in the FFXIV part of the forum. But maybe I missed the part of the forum rules where it said four threads pr. day was disallowed?!?!?

That aside, to the OP, I think your idea is very valid. The idea of having more content for your character to do and more progression etc. But one has to wonder about how it would work since the two games skills and detailswise will probably not be alike.

Also it would be time-travel, no? Aren't the two games taking place a long time apart? Next is how to approximate the characters looks since the character creator is bound to be vastly different.

So I don't think it is easy to versionize each character across games. And a potential pandora's box for developers. One more thing to add would be new and old server technology that would have to inter-mesh.

    Anyways have a nice day!

I honestly don't think there should be any interaction at all between XI and XIV.  It's meant to be a new world, a new experience, a new game.  Allowing people to transfer anything beyond their name kinda damages the new experience and gives players of FFXI a huge advantage over new players in what is to be a new experience/game.  I played XI for three years starting from launch, and I have no desire to bring that character into XIV.  I can't wait to play XIV from scratch and to discover this new world as it was meant to be.  Everybody should start a new MMO experience as equals, plane and simple.
