I apologize if this is a repost. I know there were a few topics on eq2 boards about it, but I wanted to ask here and perhaps get a less biased answer.
Me and my bf will be playing duo together, and I'm not certani what class either of us wants to be, but he has expressed interest in being conjurer. I was thinking monk or druid for myself. So my question is, I know that fighter/priest makes almost a perfect duo, but how about something a little different like conjurer/monk? I have never played a pet class, so I was not sure if the pet could take the brunt of the melee and just let the monk do fast damage?

My fiancee and I usually duo as him a mage and me a cleric. Root is very good when we're killing groups. I'd imagine any combination would be a good one (especially if one can heal). In EQ1 we each played iskar monks together, and I have to say they were the best class to level up with, but that was in EQ1.
I haven't played the diverse characters yet to make an educated decision on what duo pair is the best. I'd like to know that too.
