Will I be able to run this?

DstiveDstive Member Posts: 42

Just a quick questions to people already playing this game. How well will I be able to run this game on my system.

My basic specs are:-

Intel duo core 2.13ghz

GeForcce 9500 1gb ddr2

2gb ram.

Asking because recommend specs seem to be unusually high?

Cheers.

Looks like you should be able to, according to the minimum specs.

Hmm, I dunno. You may be able to run it just fine on medium and lower specs. I had a friend recently come to the game with a similar rig (faster processer; 3.0) but had an nVidia 8400 card. He had some stuttering issues. Not so that he couldn't play, but enough to annoy him. He purchased an EVGA nVidia 9800 card and wow the difference. So, I wouldn't reccommend any of the older nVidia cards that aren't x6xx and above. In this case 6600+, 7600+, 8600+ and 9600+. I remember reading somewhere, I think on Tom's, that the second number in those cards was the money number and that the generational difference in numbers (i.e., 6,7,8 and 9) didn't matter so much unless your talking a 2+ generational gap. Heaven knows if it's true, but it seems that way from things I've seen.

I wouldn't think you could run it well. But then, if what some of what some folks say is true, I run the game better than some who have "better" machines than I do.

    Can I run this..

    Dual Slice LG toaster

    2.4 litre LG Kettle (cordless)

    1300 Dyson Cyclone Vacuum cleaner.

Its got Electricaly bits in in, so I thought It would work cos electric is like magic stufff, didnt bother to read min specs or if I did ignored them in a vain hope the stuff I am running will in fact be magical and achieve the same results they did 5 to 7 years ago.

Curious myself because I've seen different minimum requirements for the video card.

    Dual-Core 2.3

    3GB

    Vista 32

Problem is the Nvidia 6100  128

Nvidia cards have a wierd way of doing theyre card numbers, but as a general rule, the first number denotes the series, the next number is the value number, however they can fluff that bit with design revamos, but as a general rule it holds.

So the 6100 would be the value card, the 6800 is the racer expesive card, so if you had the 6800 it would just run on low settings, but expect stuttering, 6100 I would myself be very suprised if it did anything.

I am presuming here that your rig is AGP, as the 6100 only was an AGP card, A very quick look on a few suppliers came up with the max card as the 6200 thats commonly held in stock, which is a pointless move, if someone knows more about ATI cards and their performance, as I confess to knowing bugger all about them as never owned one, someone advise on the max level AGP card and performance.

These cards are like $40-$60 now and a very worthwhile cheap upgrade. also your RAM what ram is it, what speed etc etc, you can do a mini upgrade there as well, very cheap to upgrade the older RAM presently, sometimes less than a $100 can perform big performance gains.

What setting were you able to run the game on with your spec? What sort of FPS are you getting?
